just tried for OOTP24 and the downloaded DB Converter files needed an older version of NET Desktop Runtime 5.0.0. My system has 5.0.17.

Sadly, I don't think the source code was posted for this project, although there were hints that might happen. I really could use this tool or a similar one with OOTP 24.
I've made my repository public on github and the source can be found here:

I have yet to purchase OOTP 24 and, as a result, I haven't updated the program to be compatible. However, I'd like to make the next iteration of the program compatible with any and all versions of OOTP using the .odb (OOTP Database) format. The issue I need to address to make this happen is that I have certain aspects of the program "hard-coded" to find the embedded csv files in a particular order which seems to change from version to version. I'd like to make the program simply "figure out" what csv file is being parsed based on the csv column headers (or perhaps the column data for the ones without column headers).

If anyone out there has any programming experience and knows how to use github, please feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in contributing.

Recently purchased OOTP24 and I'm getting close to finishing an updated version of the Database converter. New version will be compatible with OOTP24 and every version going back to OOTP17. Rather than creating a new version of the Database Converter with every release of OOTP, I will be maintaining a single version and updating for compatibility as needed.

Initial commit for new version is on github. After some testing, I will package and update the links at the beginning of the thread.

Some good news for 2024 (both the game and the year!)

Download links have been updated. Will update the user guides soon. This version works well but is in it's early stages and should be considered alpha at this point. Please reach out to me if you have issues.

New version seems to work pretty well with 24 DB.

Since I play with "random players" I extended careers of a few 1870's players and created a George Ruth pitcher, and adjusted Babe to a non-pitcher, both versions getting long careers. (So far, I have not seen the "Ruth Boys" show up!)

A couple of the adjusted pitchers, seem to have fallen apart sooner then expected (based on the career stats). But since I've only done one test 10 year period, it might just be the randomness of the game.

Glad to hear that you're having some success with it.

As far as the Ruth's go, did you give the new George Ruth pitcher a new unique id number? They should show up eventually.

In regards to the pitchers retiring sooner than expected, I wonder if it has anything to do with OOTP's settings for player aging or player ratings?

OOTP25 & DB Converter

Looks like their might be changes in the ODB structure in OOTP25 (beta).
Tried to create a new CSV file, and it gave me "error writing config file".

I'm having problems, too.

Is there new DB Converter compatible with OOTP25?

New DB Converter

Thank you for all of your work and sharing it with the OOTP community. Just ran it and works fine.

Doom are you still around?

When I use the converter and follow instructions, it doesn't accept the command to just point to the folder, it wants to actually open the database itself. When you try to convert back it wants to do each individual csv instead of just converting the whole folder back.

You should set up 3 folders, outside of the game:

Here is my set up
F:/OOTPDB25/odb | where a copy of the original (game stats folder) data goes
F:/OOTPDB25/stats-csv | where you convert the original data to for editing to
F:.OOTPDB25/stats-mod | where you convert the edited data to be moved back to the game.

When you convert the original data, files for each area that you can edit are created and written to the stats-csv folder. (you select the historical db file)

When you convert your edited stats, (you select to the master file) in the stats-csv (location), and created new files in the folder stats-mod (destination)

It should give you 12 files to copy and replace the original game files in the OOTP25 stat folder (remember to make a backup of your stats folder before making changes).

Editing Suggestion

One of the things I do when editing a player is to make copy of the stats, and move to the bottom, and remove the player ID from the original. That way I have the original around, when I mess up with the modified history.

Thank you.

I got this working yesterday but:

I’m trying to create a revised 1991 start
I edited the opening day line up file to put players on different teams
I edited the manager file to change who the managers were that year
I edited the transactions file to create transactions I wanted

When I created a new game I pointed at the database, imported complete history and minors, etc.

When game starts none of the work I did was there. It still used the games original data.
