It looks like we are still planned for a best of five series, but its still pretty weird. If I am reading correctly, the first place WC from both the AC and NC were given a spot in the playoffs, and the second place team from each side are facing each other in a one-game decision maker for the final playoff spot. The brackets are not split by league, so we could have two AC or two NC teams in the World Series.

Playoff Set-up is so bizarre
This playoff set-up is so bizarre. My Expos didn't deserve to eek into the grand stage, but here we are facing the #2 wild card from other division. I gotta admit I kind of like this strange set-up simply because it is foreign and new to me.
Good Luck everyone, may the odds forever be in your favor. Shoeless Joe Jackson is gonna throw the series. - Branchricky22/Branchrickey/Branchricky |

It is really hard to build a pitching staff as you said. The best available starters are Dean, Gibson, Carpenter, and the golds Mikolas and Martinez. The bullpen is pretty sparse as well, with Lee Smith, and Lindy McDaniel being the best of the lot. You can't find any good lefties either (Haddix is about the best). I am disappointed that we don't have more great Cardinals pitchers in the gold ranks. It would be nice to see Jesse Haines, Harry Brecheen, Howie Pollet, Max Lanier, Curt Simmons, Nelson Briles, Steve Carlton as a Cardinal, John Tudor, Joaquin Andujar, a diamond Wainwright… there's a ton of possibilities. |

In my first five post-season games, the losing team had no earned runs. Four of the games were shutouts, in one game the losing team picked up an unearned run in the 9th inning, for their only run of the game.

In the LCS, I won the first two on the road and then lost 4 straight including 3 at home. So my season ends in Mudville (I don’t have a Casey).
Go Holliston! |

TheKid95's Denver Moose took the other LCS to seven games, with the 7th game lasting 18 innings. The other-wise under-performing Carlton Fisk walked it off with a 3-run HR, but that was very nearly a very exciting upset.

That game box score/game was crazy, thought I got lucky when I swept you at home, but damn, what a way for a series to end. Good luck in the series

Congratulations to BillVeeck and the Mudville Razorbacks!
As my consolation prize, the Homers Mike Scott picked up both the Cy Young and the MVP in the AC. Last edited by absurddoctor; 01-21-2019 at 12:30 AM. |

Great Season Everyone
Best wishes as we likely part ways. This 22 team league was a blast and that was due to the excellent camaraderie and competition.
Still can't believe that 18 inning Game 7 to decide the Championship Series...ends with a Fisk walk-off...how poetic (wonder if it hit the foul pole). Hope to see some of you guys next week at the Perfect Tier. |

Looks like Nashville and I are in the same league again, best of luck to you all this week, hopefully we cross paths in a league again! And yeah, that was an insane/epic finish, doubt I'll see that again!
