Maybe it's just me but with all of the options available I'm not sure how you make it much easier than the current choices available, ie the manager screen, bookmarks, menus, icons, links etc. A game with this many options and stat tracking is going to have a large GUI, not sure how you can get around that. |

why, doesnt accomplish anything. I could say i wont buy it because im sick of new features being added but the same old stuff is broken. Can you tell exactly what needs to be fixed by that statement? I only saw one bug mentioned by the original poster and Markus replied that it was fixed. If someone just says im not gonna buy it then i would imagine that ootp would view it as well thats your choice. But now if you say im not gonna buy it because the team records book is still notin the game then maybe ootp would think to look at whether to add it or not. |

I think you have to agree that Markus has done a great job with OOTP, and has a definitive lead over the competition in features, mainly Baseball Mogul and the obscure Pure Sim Baseball. OOTP is a great game, I'm addicted and I'm looking forward to OOTP10. There's always going to be issues with this type of game, but Markus is very accessible and is doing a good job in getting the most annoying ones fixed. Simply put OOTP is the best out there.

That's not saying much since there aren't many others out there. Obviously if there are only 2 games of similar ilk, one will be better than the other. It doesn't mean the "best" one is all that great, just it is better than the only other game out there.

Do you think its gonna get fixed if there are no more posts on it? If you see a problem then it should be mentioned regardless of how many posts have been made. If we can have copycat threads left and right in OT i think we can handle threads mentioning the same problem. The more its mentioned the more chance it might get fixed. Would you rather see many posts saying im not buying it cause they havent fixed anything? If you dont want to post a problem thats already been mentioned then at least refer to the thread that mentions it. |

There isn't any reason for those of you who will pay out money because the game works fine for the way you use it to jump all over those who decide they don't want to pay for it until they see things get fixed. It's pointless to play the game if it has problems for the way you use it. It doesn't mean that the game isn't fine for you. I really don't see why some of you are getting your bowels in an uproar whenever someone says they aren't going to buy the game just yet. We are not obligated to answer to you regarding our reasons for not buying so I don't see why it is such an issue to you. You aren't the one trying to make a living by selling the thing. |

Where did i jump on the guy for saying hes not buying it? If posting that i dont think just saying im not gonna buy it accomplishes anything is jumping on the guy then i would say that if your that sensitive then you might want to avoid OT. And i never said the game works fine for me. But im not posting that im not buying it and not stating why. I never said anyone is obligated to answer why they are not buying the game. I merely stated that it doesnt accomplish much too not state it. By your logic we should all post the game sucks and nothing will ever get fixed since it hasnt been fixed yet. So what if something hasnt been fixed yet. Should we just stop mentioning it? Just because it hasnt been fixed yet doesnt mean it isnt ever gonna be fixed. So we have to make a living selling the game to want to see the game improved? To point out it would be better to state what problems you are talking about? Hey if you wanna say the game sucks and you wont buy it fine but i wouldnt expect the problems you see to get fixed. Unless your satisfied with a previous version i really dont understand why you would even bother reading the game forums. I mean if you dont like a previous version and you dont expect new versions to fix anything then whats the point? Unless you just want to complain. Thats your right but it would seem like a waste of time. |

Will not buy it
The one problem that I don't know how many of you would agree with is the fact that OOTP 2009 kept crashing all the time. I mean it was like every time I tried to play a whole season the game just continued to crash on me. I don't know If it's because of Vista or what but Markus had said that he fixed the crashes but they just kept getting worse. I don't have a problem with the current user interface except with the fact that the game loads very slowly during creation.

Funny, this thread was started over a month ago, has had some good discussion, is into it's 7th or 8th page, and suddenly you decide it accomplishes nothing. Good call. Last edited by Bluenoser; 04-02-2009 at 07:24 AM. |

If Baseball Mogul was the only game out there it still wouldn't be the best.

But if you dont say what the problem is that you are upset about how is anyone to know if its been fixed or not? What is wrong with mentioning a problem again? Not everyone has been here since day 1. They are probably not gonna spend 10 hours searching when they could mention the problem especially if its got them to the point of not wanting to buy the game. If they mention the problem and even if its been discussed before maybe someone has a great suggestion come to them. Maybe something has been fixed but does that mean it cannot be improved? I can understand the beta team checking to see if a bug has been mentioned but why limit the public? Maybe Markus fixes a problem the beta team posted but after the game is released you dont think the problem is really fixed. Maybe it is but maybe it isnt but how would you get any answers if you dont say it simply because it was mentioned before. A long thread doesnt mean its accomplished much. How much of this thread has actually discussed the original poster's problems? Oh wait there was only one that was mentioned and it was replied as fixed. Now maybe that was the only one that was needed but it wasnt mentioned in the first post so how would anyone have known what the problem was? Maybe the problem isnt a problem at all but something the poster didnt know and someone could have helped. Instead of discussing the problems your on my case for basically saying it would be good if the problems were mentioned. You act as if im saying you cant like the game. Christ all i said was it doesnt accomplish much to just state your not buying the game without mentioning what you dont like about it other then maybe venting your frustration. But instead of wanting to discuss the problems you seem to want discuss why i think the problems should be discussed. Hell i know if i posted im not buying it or the game sucks without saying why the reaction i would get is why bother posting here. But your right anyone unhappy with the game should just say im not buying it and they will read their minds and know what the problems are. Oh and theres no reason to discuss the problems anymore cause theyve all been mentioned before and if they are not fixed by now its never gonna happen. |

I like this post, also your web site!
But to comment on the others, this is called a discussion board for players to give their opinion which everyone has a right to. That being said I liked reading them all, just find it very odd that the person that starts a thread usually starts it for a reason. He states he won't purchase their product because it doesn't deliver the results he wants, yet doesn't want to take the time to state his issues even though the "man in charge" is willing to listen. Well, Markus if you are still listening keep up the good work and keep listening to the discussion. In today's times it's tough to find those that will.

Unless you have been out to lunch for the past 4 years or so, you know as well as everyone else what the problems are, so quit trying to ask for people to post them all over again. EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE! Sheesh. |

Styx is right. Even things that live on the walls in dark caverns know what they are.

Both and neither. It depends on what you enjoy the most. I play each for different reasons and for those reasons one is better than the other.
