Maybe the OP has asked for some features to be added and they haven't so he is frustrated. I know I would rather see more attention to stat details for season and game records then what's been added. For example-
Reworked Pitching System - OK
Customizable In-Game Screen - Don't care
Improved In-Game AI - Don't care
Enhanced Play-By-Play - Don't care
Inaugural Draft With Budgets - Really Don't care
Improved Arbitration - Really really Don't care
Improved Free Agent Compensation - waste IMO
Improved Player Evaluation AI - Don't care
Improved Injury System - OK

I never use the budgets anyway. I would rather be able to list the top 10 records for any stat in one game for the leagues history. I would like to see the accomplishments screen changed and items added. These are things I've asked for been never been added. I know you can do a dump after each season but that is a real pain. Plus I'm short on time for that anyway.

But I'll still buy the game as I have since the beginning but if the things I like most are not added then after a couple weeks just like versiion 9 and all the others, version 10 will take up space.

In Game waiver wire claim issue. Waivers simply do not work correctly in the game for online leagues.

I'm with you there. OOTP is clearly the best baseball sim..... for me it would be close to perfect with a more advanced "record book".

One of the things that I always dug about Strat-o-Matic was how rich the record book was (although that's probably more manageable one season at a time)

I will not be purchasing the game either. I had planed on buying it but after learning of the "ongoing periodic contact with the Webstore server," I have changed my mind. If I buy something I should own it outright, and not be subjected to random checkups by the company who took my money.

This is the first I've seen of this. This kind of stuff kept me from buying Spore. Where can I find more information?

From what Pisdpaul said, the "ongoing periodic contact with the webstore server" will be removed.

So the "ongoing periodic contact with the Webstore server" has been removed for the PC, as well as Mac/Linux users? It was my understanding that this policy was still in place for non-PC versions of the game. That is wonderful if that is the case!

It was never in place for the PC.

Buying it

I am buying this game no matter what as I have since the first one. I understand people really have some hang ups that keep them away from this fantastic game, but in my opinion there is nothing closer to baseball reality.

His reply was that many software packages do just that for licensing purposes (recent Windows OS's being one example), that was the point of his rebuttal (or at least my understanding of it)

I would say that since Season Ticket Baseball this is the first time I'm considering not buying the next version. My reasons being 1) I'm pretty content with 9 and 2) due to my contentness there really is one thing that I want changed and that is how subleagues are set up. For a couple of versions I've talked about League Associations (especially look at LGO's post #12) instead of subleagues. Until that happens there's really not enough that draws me towards buying a new version.

EDIT: I tend to be a macro guy, not a micro guy. So lots of little changes in the engine, etc. doesn't do a whole lot for me.
EDIT 2: I'm sure I'll check out the demo though.

Yeah, I've taken your initial idea, thought about it a lot, looked at real-world scenarios, history, and rules, and then fleshed out the concept into a significant and comprehensive system. And, to really mimic accurately the history of professional baseball, the system is absolutely vital. (It'd also be a boon to fictional players since it would greatly increase their options for setting up baseball universes.)

I'd keep subleagues around but rename them conferences, as they are useful for recreating conference-like league structures such as exist in the NBA, NFL, and NHL.

It just comes down to personal choice. The game cant improve or add every feature that everybody wants. If its an improvement to you then buy it if not then dont buy it. I can understand frustration if theres nothing you see that improves your personal gameplay but im not sure saying im not gonna buy it accomplishes anything.
I waited from ootp2 for a feature like recalc and then the option to start a league in 1871. But in between for me there always seemed to be something that improved the game experience.

Sure it accomplishes something - it lets the developer know where some of his customers stand on certain issues. It provides feedback, the same as someone saying "I'm buying it".

Everyone expresses them self in a different way. I for one am glad that people post this sort of thing.

Will not buy it

The only problem with OOTP game besides the most notable problems is still the user interface, the user interface needs to be more simple easier to navigate around, I mean come on folks get this problem along with the other problems fixed. The user interface should be easier to use then it is now. As far as the other problems goes I don't think that they a very big issue like the user interface is but they should be fixed along with the user interface.
