Though, it's not going to stop me from leading a parade myself. Seriously, I was having a bad day at work, saw that news, and my day instantly became better. No more horrific long term deals for everyone except good players! Bye bye Billy. Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. |

You mean you're not going to miss having 25-30 million worth of salaries of other teams players going against the cap number every year??

Oh, how could I forget that? Of course I'll miss watching the Sixers pay several players on other teams! I mean, who wouldn't want a third of their team's payroll designated for that exact purpose? They would have to be crazy not to want that!

T.J. Ford got slammed in the face by Al Horford (flagrant 2, ejected) on a breakaway, crashed to the ground, head snapped back and hit the court.
He's been down for 5 minutes, he was crying pretty heavily at one point, and he hasn't moved. This really sucks. |

Bill Simmons top 50 trade value players list is out and it's spectacular!
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/071218 Will be a good way to help with my insomnia tonight. I'm only a few minutes in and he's already pegged Andre Iguodala and Rudy Gay perfectly. Last edited by marc; 12-19-2007 at 01:20 AM. |

That Raptors-Grizzlies trade Simmons suggested needs to happen yesterday.
I still think Bargnani is going to be very good, but Bosh-Gasol would be outstanding. Putting Pau with Calderon is genius. I'm not sure JC Navarro even cracks the Raptors rotation though. Last edited by Big Hugg; 12-20-2007 at 10:00 PM. |

My entirely too early MVP list:
1. Dwight Howard 2. Chris Paul 3. Allen Iverson 4. Kevin Garnett 5. Kobe Bryant The difference between those 5 is marginal at best IMO. |

In typical Bill Walton "let's be overly dramatic about everything" fashion, he just said "Brandon Roy is going to the Hall of Fame".

My not entirely too early because it's only a 2 man race Rookie of the Year list:
1. Al Horford 2. Kevin Durant Durant will win regardless, but I've got Horford out in front right now. I'll make a deal with Durant to put him #1 if he gets his FG% over 40 and gets his A/T ratio to 1/1. |

I heartily endorse your assessment of Al Horford for ROY(and that he doesn't have a chance regardless).
I have questions about the MVP though. How are Steve Nash and LeBron James not on that list? What about Carlos Boozer? For me, LeBron is #1 on my MVP ballot and everybody else is fighting for second place. Yes, he's missed some time this year, but unless he's get hurt again, when he's been out there he's been the best player in the league and nobody's really been close. |

Boozer, Lebron, and Nash would probably fall in the 6, 7, and 8 slots on my list. Boozer was the closest to making it. The Cavs being 12-15 is the main reason Lebron didn't crack my list. I can't bring myself to give the MVP to a guy on a losing team, which I'm sure many will disagree with that theory. If he remains healthy and the Cavs right the ship, he'll be right in the thick of things. |

12-10 when he plays though.
Anyway, I don't disagree with him not winning it "as of now." But they're going to make the playoffs and he will win it. |

I do expect them to get to 45ish wins and if he continues at his current pace and they do get to 45 wins, it's gonna be real hard to argue against him. |

Dola,
I fully expect Orlando to continue to slide down the standings and at that point, Howard's MVP bid will probably go out the window. I definitely don't see them winning at the 66% clip that they currently are. |

It seems weird, but if they find a way to win at home, they would have a huge lead. On the road they are fine, at home, not so much.
