Like it or not, the players and the fans do indicate the character of the franchise - particularly to those (like me) who don't watch the Yankees all that often. And what I've seen has frankly disgusted me.
I wasn't challenging your statements, Eck.

I was asking you if you truly believe they should. I should have been more clear.

I understand that actions do affect the perspective of a franchise's character, but I think you can agree that they shouldn't (in the sense that it is unfortunate).

The chopping IS being a baby/poor sport. Next thing you know some kid in the little league will copy his hero and try to hit the ball out of a kids glove in little league and break his wrist. Horrible decision by A-Rod, and things like that deserve a fine.

...I think it would...
Imagine the reaction of Sawks fans if they win this series and that happens. The suicide hotline would be ringing off the hook.

I'll say this about ARod's play:

I do believe he was trying to knock out the ball intentionally, but not his arm. It was a good baseball play had he just whacked the glove more sneakily. It's part of baseball. Just like sliding into 2nd with your cleats in the air.

Wasn't as bad as it looked, in my opinion.

It would be consistent with their history.

KILLERB made a similar analogy and I couldn't argue it then so I won't argue it now.

Point taken.

Right, condone dirty play. I'm sure you were the kid during rec basketball who poked every kid in the stomach when he went for a jump shot.
