I was asking you if you truly believe they should. I should have been more clear.

I understand that actions do affect the perspective of a franchise's character, but I think you can agree that they shouldn't (in the sense that it is unfortunate).

The chopping IS being a baby/poor sport. Next thing you know some kid in the little league will copy his hero and try to hit the ball out of a kids glove in little league and break his wrist. Horrible decision by A-Rod, and things like that deserve a fine.

I'll say this about ARod's play:

I do believe he was trying to knock out the ball intentionally, but not his arm. It was a good baseball play had he just whacked the glove more sneakily. It's part of baseball. Just like sliding into 2nd with your cleats in the air.

Wasn't as bad as it looked, in my opinion.
