We're heading towards a sweep at the hands of a wildcard team that couldn't touch us all season. When it happens, there will be a lot of rage-selling, because quite frankly winning 108 games then completely no-showing the playoffs is UNACCEPTABLE. Heads have to roll.

If I could refuse promotion based on this fact, then I would. Inexcusable!

The reason I said bummer is because I would have liked to have stayed in gold next season.... it's sweet here. Since only four teams are promoted, if I had lost the NLDS, I would have stayed put. In Diamond I will be a below average team. Oh, well, now I just need to see if I can go all the way!

Gold is the sweet spot and the place to be. I have three teams in Diamond. One is about to get booted out of it, while the other two are doggy paddling.

Bronze - Ozark, Harlem, Salem, Cooper, Bluffton, Asheboro

Silver - Waffletown, Terra Incognita, Port Ruppert, Annandale, Sanguine, Wheatland, Asylum, Palolo, Shasta

Gold - Green Lake, Transylvania, Seattle, Kaneohe

Diamond - Battery Point, Aina Haina, Ewa Beach

Iron - Stephensville (only team I could check on)

When I went to the Universe screen to check on I212, I scrolled left; I scrolled right, but did not find it, so I can't hazard a guess as to how the teams there are doing, in terms of promotion/relegation. Bottom Of The Sixth is out of town, so he has been unable to send me the screen shots. Not sure why they weren't there.

I think it was very noble of the Mokes to sacrifice themselves so there could be an Our League in Gold. Of course, they cost the Diamonds an Our League pennant race.

Guess my boys didn’t get very far in the post season if they’ll be in silver again next year.... probably for the best... still need plenty of upgrades...

New York Patriots will be in bronze next season, even though they don't deserve it after their garbage postseason, and hopefully this time I'll get put with some Our Leaguers.

Nine teams in Silver is starting to show where we can be. I will be glad when most of us gravitate to Gold or Diamond. I think the league might generally settle to one of those levels in a few months.

Annandale closes the books on a disappointing Season 5

Annandale (1) at Green Lake (3): The Cowboys continued battering the Atom Smashers as they took three of four in friendly confines.

Game one was a 7-4 easy victory for Green Lake
Game two was a 2-1 victory for the home team
The third game was won by Green Lake as they scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 victory. Daniel Murphy (.325/.367/.512) had the game-winning hit, a single that scored the winning run.
Annandale salvaged one game with a 5-3 victory in the fourth game. Bobby Bonds (.244/.368/.460) had the key hit, a two-run double in the top of the sixth.

Congrats to Green Lake for playing great this year!

Management Notes
As the players pack up their lockers and head home for the winter, Annandale management is conducting a retreat where top brass will consider the team's future. It's rumored that Annandale is going to change from their "defense-first" philosophy to a more offense-based approach.

(as an aside: I dunno if it's the "grass is greener" syndrome, but it feels to me that it's much more difficult for defensive teams to get PP, since it seems like there are so many more achievements based on offense. So part of my upcoming change is because it's frustrating to see PP trickle in. I guess I'll see how it goes next season).

Philadelphia, recently presented the first ever Founders Cup for Our League in PT 19, won their first 2.0 championship in I212. With these results added to The Big Book (sheet of paper), the fourth chapter of the current iteration of Our League comes to a close. I will post the all time records at the conclusion of 2024.
