I think Torre did OK. What else do you expect him to do? He's not making a scene, and is trying to keep Rodriguez away. If he simply walked away, people are going to blame him for lacking the spirit.

This is gonna go down as one of the most brilliant chapters ever in the visceral story of palpable hatred that is Yankees vs. Red Sox.

Gotta love it.

I'll hand it to ya, Skip...nobody takes the contrary position to everything quite the way you do!

By the way some of you are acting, you'd think A-Rod took out a knife and stabbed the guy as he ran by. It's pretty comical, actually.

Why does Jeter go back to first on that play? No one seemed to mention this. It was just accepted.

I would have laughed pretty hard if Sheff ended up hitting a single and the Yankees ended up not scoring a run in the inning. If ARod would have just taken the out, the Yanks would have at least had a runner at second base. I'm actually surprised that Jeter wasn't awarded at least second base. Wasn't he at least half way there before ARod interfered. Wonder what the rules are on that?

That's the way the rules work.

Because it's a dead ball... didn't make any difference anyway.

Hardly...people are just bothered by a cheap, classless play.

More reasons to hate A-rod. I love how he did the "what? who me???" look at 2nd base when he was called out.

Actually, that's a good question. I would have to assume there's some sort of rule they based that decision on.

Good lord the umps have earned their paychecks tonight.

From the Yanks POV, good job by Lieber resting up the bullpen for tomorrow.

Yeah. Very much.

Looks like he doesn't know the rules, he's too focused on his $20+ M salary.

That seems pretty senseless to me.

Jeter was going to be at second regardless of how the play turned out.

Oh please. He tried to get away with one when he knew he was beat. ALL players, including players on teams you like, try to do something technically illegal to try to get away with one. It happens all the time. Acting like he's the villian of the post season because of this is laughable.
