Locklear could be better than France with the way France is hitting.

Grasping at "straws" there you are. This lineup today reeks of desperation by management. They have a pathetic lineup and this pitching is wearing down. Texas will pass them if they do not make some big additions by the trade deadline. So fortunate that they have 4 at home against the White Sox but they cannot rely on beating sub .500 teams to win in the playoffs, if they make it. This is a heavily pitching reliant team in first place in a weak division this year. Still if not in this division they would possibly not qualify for the playoffs iif they do not win the AL West. I am disgusted with management and ownership for not doing more on the hitting side and Julio is broken (so far)!

You can't always build a team expecting a $250M payroll and a 100 preseason win projection. I'll take a world series ring any way I can get it, even if it means backing into the playoffs in a weak division and then beating teams on a strong starting pitching rotation. Could we beat teams like the Orioles, Yankees ,and Indians in a 5 or 7 game series? Yes I think we could behind Gilbert, Castillo, Kirby, Miller and Woo.

Needless to say, the Mariners need to win 3 out of 4 at least against the worst team in the league white sox. Hopefully the can sweep.

Loved the walk off grand slam by Raleigh.
Since firing their hitting coach May 31st, the Mariners have averaged 5.1 runs per game. |

However, it was fun to watch in the 8th and 9th innings when I turned it on to watch

I hope so but we need a bigger sample size. I think it is going to take Julio getting hot like he did last year for that 17 games streak. It appears that JP is beginning to heat up as well. What would really help is if Garver started to hit with some consistency and that the Mariners pick up a power hitting first baseman or right fielder. Haniger is a part time player at best and Canzone needs more seasoning. But I hope you are right and that they start hitting/scoring more runs on a consistent basis.

It would be cool if the mariners could finalize a Luis Roberts Jr trade with Roberts still in Seattle.

I would be shocked if that trade happened at all. They would have to give up 3-5 of their best minor league players. The competition for him will be intense driving up the asking price. He is also so very injury prone, so I say a hard pass.

who would you rather have, Alonso or Guerrero Jr who are on one year contracts? There is a lot of parity this year which means a lot of teams are looking for hitters which will drive up the prices.

I do not see the Mariners going for Alonso as he will just sign back with the Mets. I would like Vlad if they could sign him for 3 years or longer. What do you think?

Tough loss tonight. The terrible hitting continues. If they hit like this against the Rangers they are likely to get swept. That could be a turning point. Right now I think the only way they win this division is if Texas and Houston continue to play as they currently are. Winning 3 out of 4 against this White Sox team is not much of a feat. I am so unimpressed by this team except for the starting rotation.

I couldn't be happier to be so wrong. And I did say "likely" not absolutely
![]() This team continues to astound me, pleasantly so, but still...

Guerrero's dad played for the Expos so maybe he has a soft spot for small market teams. Between Alonso and him he seems more like the type that would want to play for the Mariners it seems. But it's still a risk to trade for a player on a one year contract. I'd rather trade Ford and 4 other minor prospects for Roberts Jr, or maybe Hancock.
