April recap - Division Leaders

Lager League

Pilsner Division: Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot - A perennial favorite, it's no surprise to see Weyerbacher atop the division to start the season with an impressive 16-4 record. Riding a 10 game winning streak to end the month, the Blithering Idiot are riding a solid pitching staff as the main reason for their early success (1st in starters and bullpen ERA, FIP, and pitching WAR).

Kolsch Division: Goose Island Goslings - Goose Island hold a slim 1 game lead after the first month of the season. Youngster Edward Moore is coming into his own (now in his second full season with the club), leading the club with a scorching .425 batting average and 13 runs scored, and setting the table nicely for his cousin Kevin Moore who has driven in 20 runs.


Helles Division: Sierra Nevada Narwhals / Ballast Point Commodores - In the 'division no one wants to win', the Narwhals and Commodores share the top spot with matching 10-10 records. Both clubs have some solid individual accomplishments (Narwhals Craig Filko with 23 RBIs; Liam Derby .368 average; Lorenzo Acosta .351 average; Commodores Adan Sanchez 10 home runs and 24 RBIs), but both are also waiting for their clubs to pull it together at the same time


Tripel Division: Daft Badger Hoppypotamus - After a dismal 2031 season, Daft Badger is hoping to return to their 2030 form where they won the division crown for the first time in their history. Newly acquired right fielder Pat Suggs is off to a solid start as he hopes to impress his new club, with 8 home runs, 18 RBIs and a .329 average after the first month.


Porter Division: Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow / Palmetto Ghost Rider - Solid starting pitching is carrying the team for Three Floyds (Ben Troyer 2-2, 2.41 ERA; Theo Jackson 4-0, 2.97 ERA; Golan Moritz 1-2, 3.03 ERA); while Palmetto is relying on the offensive skills of Alfredo Velasquez (9 home runs, 19 RBIS, .324 average); and Nick Hecker (2 home runs, 12 RBIS, .390 average) to keep them in the mix.


Dunkel Division: Sleeping Giant Beaver Duck - After winning the Beer League Championship last year, Sleeping Giant picked up where they left off as they hold the best record in the league after the first month at 18-2. Left fielder Mike Few also picked up where he left off. After setting the post season RBI record (36) last year, Few leads the club with 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and a ridiculous .494 average.


Eisbock Division: Kona Pipeline - Kona holds the lead in a division where the rest of the competition is below .500. Center fielder Craig Johnson is off to a hot start, batting .389, with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. Veteran first baseman Eric Schnare is closing in on some milestone marks (15 hits away from 2000; 3 stolen bases away from 800).


Altbier Division: Odious Cellars Rubied Perspective - The OC are riding a strong offense to lead the division with a 15-5 record. Five players have double digit RBIs already, with Jon Jacquot (6 home runs, 21 RBIs, .318 average); and Brady Worster (10 home runs, 19 RBIs, .275 average) leading the charge.
