Clever. My stream of consciousness:

"Heh, preseason football. CM hit the wrong thread."

"Wait. It's only July." (Sadly, the strange scoring aspect did not occur to me. )

"And what the heck? The Bears played split-squad games?"

"Oh, jeez, he's making a point about high-scoring MLB games. How clever."

Being the nerdy sort that I am, I double-checked each city. Yes, each NFL team was accurately selected.

Fortunately for me, CM was hoist with his own petard merely by the fact that Chicago has only one lonely NFL team. If it were not for that, I might still be scratching my head.

Lol!

I was wondering if last night was all that unusual. Turns out it was.

Yes, I noticed too they had changed the box score layout last night when I went to save them.

My biggest annoyance with websites are those that clearly have a design intended for mobile browsing, meaning it looks horrifically ugly when viewed on a desktop computer, as well as being less functionally useful.

Speaking of which, I didn't know they had started their season already.

The 18-game schedule usually starts in early June.

3 of 10. Geez. I guess in baseball that gets me @ least considered for the Hall.

I've got some beef w/some of the descriptions, but I will keep quiet for a bit so I don't spoil it for others.

I was only one better than you. Which doesn't say much, since I'm probably about 40 years older than you and actually saw some of those dudes play!

Feh, 6/10.

I'll admit to 2 legitimate blunders, but I don't like "imposing figure…in the field" for a guy who did that much DHing, and don't get me started on "a tower of serenity and strength in the dugout."

Seriously, LMAO at that.

(And he was up against a guy known as "The Tall Tactician". Sigh.)

Thank you!!! The other one that threw me off was the one who was known for, among other things, "his speed". I was like, "none of these guys was known for stealing".

Who @ the start of the year thought the O's would be in 1st? After the Rays start, who thought they would be in 1st by July 21st?

Prior to the start of the season I had the O's pegged for 4th in the ALE, ahead of the Red Sox. I didn't think they had done enough in the off season. Then Tampa went insane in April and I figured the division title was locked up.

But by the middle of June or so, watching Tampa Bay struggle with injuries and watching some O's games, I slapped some money down on them to win the AL East.

Last 60 games will be fun. Jays are lurking too. Life in the AL East.

The Yankees problem is depth. And the orioles and rays will be back and forth all year I think. Everyone always picks the big payrolls but moneyball has had a big effect on the AL east in particular.

The Rays reverted back to the mean somewhat but still are a .600 WP ballclub even so. Orioles are in for a fight because Rays quality and depth are there. Speaking of depth:

You said it. I think the Yankees are re-learning that lesson now. To paraphrase: Who @ the start of the year thought the O's would be in 1st and the Yankees in last?

Don't know if anyone is watching Braves @ Brewers.

Milwaukee is debuting a new RF, Sal Frelick. So far in the bottom of the 6th, 3 for 3, game tying RBI & back to back leaping catches @ the wall.

He should retire.

Just got a sac fly for a go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th.

Well, he‘s no John Paciorek, but that sounds nice.

I see KC has almost caught down to the A's. Just 1/2 a game ahead of Oakland.
