My selection process - choose the team I like less to advance. Given that, the World Series was extremely difficult to predict.

I did the same thing.

Thats eerie, Dagrims: your selection process is the same as mine. I'm quite certain that I single-handedly destroyed the A's chances by carelessly rooting for them out loud.

On the rare occasion I bet on sports, or in football/basketball pools, I look for those kind of opportunities. If a team I like is the favorite, I will bet on/choose the other team and take the points. That way, I'll have some reason to be happy for the outcome either way, and there is a chance that I'll win the bet and the team I like will win.

If I bet for serious money, however, I wouldn't necessarily use this strategy. I would refrain from ever betting on my favorite teams, though - no need to make things doubly painful.

This doesn't fit into my book. Twins or Yankees?

I'm all for a revenge series. Just hope Justin Morneau doesn't try to drag Andruw Jones off of first base for an out.

Now that's a curse. Not only do the Sox lose, they have to play an extra game as punishment?

Redsox and Anaheim. Redsox in Four.

The Angels have a great bullpen but the Redsox are no slouchs. Futhermore, they have a large advantage in postseason experience, pitching, and hitting is at least comparable.

Yankees and Twins. Yanks in Four.

Honestly, I think the Twins have a great shot at beating the Yanks but I just can't see the Yanks going out in the first round.

Dodgers and Cardinals. Cardinals in Three.

The must underlooked aspect of the Cards in their bullpen and that bullpen will take them places. It may be a bit much to say the Dodgers get swept, but someone probably will.

Houston and Atlanta. Houston in Five.

Two perennial chockers. This Astros team isn't that great so might be wiser to error on the side of history. But, I just can't get excited about the Braves. Clemens and Oswalt will need to take a lead into in the 8th because the Astros really only have a one man pen. They will really miss Miller and Pettite.

Cards over Houston in Six.

Redsox over Yankees in Six.

Cards over Redsox in Five.

Pfft. People pointing out bias then going ahead and posting their own blatant bias. ROFL

In that spirit:

Twins sweep Yankees
Red Sox sweep Angels

Cardinals sweep Dodgers
Astros sweep Braves

Twins sweep Boston
Cardinals sweep Houston

Twins sweep Cardinals

Mark it down. That's a lock. I'm totally unbiased.

Yes, against all odds, I'm picking the Red Sox to win, because if they do, I want to be one of the guys who picked them.
