Read the last couple paragraphs of my reply to TC Dale.

I'm sorry, but I'm bowing out of this discussion for the moment, I have some work I need to finish before morning.

Since I started this thread, here are a few views and comments:

First of all, I hope that Cuss16, dbacks and Shub, 3 great and generous graphics designers, have not been offended by me doing this thread. They did 80 wonderful logos for me that really added a lot to my leagues. I sincerely appreciate their efforts for the OOTPB Community.

I hope they have no ill feelings toward couriers, another person who generously contributes his thoughtful knowledge and wisdom to the OOTPB Community. He was not attacking them for setting up their website. He just feels OOTPB should provide a place for graphics.

As I stated earlier, all things OOTPB should be on the OOTPB Forums as much as possible. It should be the central source for logos, stadiums, mods and other things related to the game, as long as there are no licensing problems.

It would be nice and convenient...and good for gamers, especially "newbies"...not to have to go to ex-officio sites.
If everything was here, it would have saved me a lot of time searching and allowed me to enjoy the game more and sooner.

I would suggest that you take the "OOTPB Forum for older versions" and change it to the Graphics Forum. In my opinion that forum is little used and of little interest. Once a new version comes out, we forget about the old version.

If someone has an older version, they could always post in the OOTPB Comments and Feedback Forum. Just take the version number off and list OOTPB.

Maybe all of the great logo designers would come back if OOTPB organized the Mods Forum in a way that most of the Mods and Graphics enthusiasts would be happy with. I think my suggestion would accomplish this end.

This is my simple solution.

Eugene, I see what you are saying, and there are no hard feelings whatsoever between any of us.

I pm'd Steve last night, and hopefully he'll respond to this thread. I know he already told me that he wouldn't create a seperate forum, but I think he should read this thread, then make a decision.

dbacks:

What do the logo designers feel about this?

If OOTPB set up a graphics forum, would the designers periodically check it?

Would this cause Cuss16's site any harm?

Not too sure. I'm going to talk to cuss and Shub later today when I get home from school and find out

Probably

Would this cause Cuss16's site any harm?
Probably

It really changes the complexities of the game. Let the poundings begin.
This is exactly how I feel. Graphics add something special to the game.

Eugene's response to TC Dale:

(sorry, I'm stilling learning how to use quotes)

One thread gets too long and troublesome to read. The logo designers prefer short requests...1-3 requests at a time...they did 80 for me in three weeks that way.

As far as your suggestion to go to Ran and Cuss 16 sites:

I could be wrong, but Cuss16's Logo Requests forum doesn't respond as quickly as they did when they were here in the Mods section. They also don't seem to get as many requests...but I could be mistaken about this.

This is not being critical of the logo designers, who share their talent so generously, just a statement of opinion.

My above opinion about Cuss16 Graphics Forum is incorrect. See the apology below. They are just a lot busier now. I made my observation because I only checked the "Logo Requests" forum, which is only one small part of the Graphics Forum. After checking it out for 30 minutes, I discovered my opinion was totally wrong.

Actually, we get more. That's why we don't seem to respond as quickly.

Now:

09-17-03 (8 threads)
09-16-03 (6 threads)
09-15-03 (3 threads)
09-14-03 (6 threads)
09-13-03 (2 threads)

This was unheard of not too long ago.
I totally agree with couriers. I don't enjoy the Mods page as much as when it had graphics requests. Another reason for a Graphics Forum in OOTPB.

Sorry, I apologize, dbacks...I was totally wrong with that opinion.

I stand corrected. Please accept my apology.

Edit addition:

Boy, was I ever wrong. I spent the last 30 minutes perusing Cuss16 Graphics site. It is excellent.
I can see why you guys (logo designers) like it so much.
Until today I only checked the "logos requests" section on the site.
I got the incorrect opinion that you were not as responsive there as on OOTPB. I didn't realize you were doing other graphics on that site.

After really checking out the site, I stand even more corrected.
My apologies to all of you, again. I hope it will be there for a long time. It is special. I hope this has not caused you any harm.

For the sake of continuity, OOTPB should want to host forums for all things important and useful to the game. If we lost Cuss' Graphics...if we lose OOTPLinks.com...and we might. We have suffered two great losses. Too often the non-OOTPB sites are here today and gone tomorrow.

This is my last suggestion at this time.

Hope OOTPB will respond and give its opinion...and decision.

The ability to "personalize" this game with additional graphics makes it so special. This should be "exploited" by the developers with a graphics forum. Just one man's opinion.
