I have been playing for many years and this can really be a stumbling block for my enjoyment.

When I see that a player or two are not (star) aligned then I do a work around.

I simply go to 'League Settings" and click 'Run OSA & Human Scouts Rescue'. This always makes the stars sync up and my enjoyment of this game is back on track...

Just my 2 cents

If they accurately reflected what they are meant to (the scouting/OSA star rating) they would be a useful thing for quickly ordering and sorting on various screens.

Right now they just cause confusion because they don't reliably reflect either the scout or the OSA rating.

I have made suggestions in BETA on how to revamp this. I'll share when I get home.

OK....My idea is to eliminate the "overall AI rating from the from the front of the player profile page...and the "Overall evaluation based on AI".

The reason is simple...the user shouldn't know exactly what the AI's opinion of a player really is. You can get an idea in trade negotiations, but you shouldn't know exactly.

What you SHOULD know...is what your scout's overall opinion of a player is. As it stands (provided you leave "overall rating based on AI" UNCHECKED) this is what you get in the scouting report page. The problem is, when you go to the front page of the player profile, the rating is different for a myriad of reasons....the AI evaluation, position strength, ratings...etc. This should be eliminated.

What you should have as an overall ratings, is
1. The summary in the written report...we have that now.
2. eliminate stars and the current 20-80 overall ratings. Replace with a scout's overall opinion grade (not AI evaluation) based on the 20-80 scale, but in 5's. So if a player in the current game had a 47 as an overall rating....he could only have a 45 or 50. So the overall scale would be 20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65,70,75,80.

These ratings should be based on your scout's assessment of the individual grades of each tool. Some scout's may weigh power more than contact or defense over offense..et. These values could be assigned to the scouts by the general manager.

So if I instruct my scouts to value defense over contact for SS, the scout would put more weight into defense when determening a player's overall rating. So you'd be able to instruct to value different tools for different positions.

Thanks, but doesn't really help in online leagues unless commish does it each sim.

What's that feature actually for?

It is far simpler to just have the profile page reflect the scout/osa rating only. Different people like different scales and ootp gas always catered for that.

There should not be any additional rating affected by the things you mention above - I agree if that is happening it needs to go as it is a possible exploit in scout leagues.

Yes, having the profile page reflect the scouting data would be fine also.
