I think the question is why your mouse is coated in lube and you're hanging upside down in a suit.

Marcus, Steve, and crew,

Thanks for the great effort in getting the game out early this year. I have especially enjoyed the "Road to Release" info.

I'll second that the Road to Release was a nice touch this year....

Huzzah! A release date before the Pirates are mathematically eliminated!

Its gonna be a long 11 day wait, but I'm glad to know when it will be released rather than constantly checking my email to see if I get a notification.

Great job getting it out in a fairly timely manner, everyone!

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

No love for the White Sox, out of all the years, this year they have the pitching to take them to the playoffs. I'm a little concerned about the lineup though. If Pierre can get on base I think think they can win 85-90 games.

Seems to be a popular pick. I of course hope you aren't right about it. I watch just about all the Sox games every year, dont know if I can handle another 2007, total crap offense.

But hey, we got Andruw Jones
and Omar Visquel
and Jayson Nix
and Bobby Jenks
and Mark Tehean
and Alex Rios .

I don't know if anyone else is like me, but it won't be too bad of a wait imo. The beginning of the season is next week and I, personally, tend to drown myself in baseball for about a week or two by watching and listening to every ballgame I can possibly find. So waiting shouldn't be too bad.

They also have one of the best rotations - Buerhle, Peavy, Floyd, Danks, Garcia. When each of your top 4 can win 15 plus, the season can't be all bad.

I hope the Sox get 2nd place. I hope the Twins win of course but the closer the Twins and Sox are in the division race, the better the games usually get. A lot of people think game 163 with the Twins/Tigers was good, but honestly I think the 162nd and 163rd games between the Twins/Sox the year before was better.

I really do hope the Sox contend this year, it's getting old watching Minnesota lose in the first round every year.

I heard they're bringing back Frank Thomas as an eating coach.

The rotation could quite be the best in Sox history. And considering what the 2005 rotation was like, that says a lot. With 4 guys who could be a number 1 guy on a number of teams, and Jake Peavy who would be the ace on just about any team, except for the Yankees, and Buerhle with 2 no hitters, they are going to be something to watch.

The offense on the other hand...

Sox could lose 80 games 2-1 this year.

So, I'm pretty proud of April 12/14!

But yes, we will strive to release OOTP 12 on or before Opening Day next year!

Thanks everyone for your positive vibes. We hope you enjoy the game!!
I have to say good job guys. You got me excited about the release of a baseball game which is no small feat. I'm looking forward to it.

Game 163 of 2008 was one of the best games I have ever seen. Nothing like a 1-0 game, where the one run was scored on a ball that was crushed, never seen a ball hit that hard to CF at the ballpark.

And of course the final catch by the late great Brian Anderson. I swear, that guy dove and floated in the air a good 30 seconds, covering no less than 50 feet.

It was probably the 2nd best game I've ever seen, trumped only by a 1-0 10 inning shut out World Series win by Jack Morris. That wins.

Along with all the other White Sox castoffs. Scott Podsednik, Wilson Betemit, Chris Getz, and Josh Fields.

But hey, at least they are not in Cleveland.

Cras, let me say this: I *hope* that the Sox do better than I *think* that they will. Good luck to them and you.

Easily the second-best 1-0 White Sox clincher ever.
