Do you have the luxury of 2 computers? If you do, have the old version on 1 and the patch on another.

Otherwise, I suggest installing the patched version in another directory so that you have 2 installations of the game until all of your leagues are patched.

Another option is to avoid exporting in some of your leagues until they are all on the patch.

Issue: I've downloaded the patch, but once I get to the folder select screen, the "install" button is grayed out no matter what selections I make. I'm on Windows XP, what could be happening here?

Ask that again a different way. I don't know what you mean. You downloaded the patch, double-clicked to install, and . . . ?

After the user agreement screen, it takes you to the screen where you select a directory to install to. Now, when I get to that screen, the "install" button is grayed-out and I can't click on it; I can't advance past this point in the install. I tried using the default folders, and I tried specifying another directory, but it still won't let me click "install" to advance past that screen.

Is your game a licensed version or a demo version?

Licensed. I've double-checked all of the Windows administrator permissions as well. I guess I could try the full version, but I worry that installing over all my current data could cause problems - has anybody else used this method?

I have never had any issues with using the full install overwrite method. However, I don't have any online leagues either...

I used the patch and it worked fine, but I use Vista not XP. I'm thinking there may be something needed by the installer that you don't have on your computer, but you'd think they'd make sure that wasn't the case.

If you backup all your data (you may want to backup your entire OOTP directories as you may not remember what you've changed) and then use the full version you should be okay.

EDIT: Or, probably more likely, maybe your download didn't fully download. Mine is 59.1MB. You could try downloading the patch again. I'm not sure you'd be able to even get that far if it didn't download correctly though.

When you originally installed the game, did you originally install it in the default directory or did you direct it to install into another custom one??

That's a good question, but fundamental are two things: this is the very first time this issue has ever come up in all of the trials, and even if one does nothing, the default should enable you to click Install once it does reach that screen.

Something's not right here, I just don't know what . . . yet.

Since patching, has anyone had an issue with the reports? In game, everything looks fine, but after patching and updating my reports for my online league this morning, the team logos, league logo, and player images are off of where they are when you look at them in game. Any help would be appreciated.

A full install isn't problematic as long as you're prepared to reinstall any of the customizations you may have made to skins, graphics, icons, etc... , given the essence of 'full' is that it overwrites everything basic to the program, but does not affect saved games other than in those areas.

Fantastic that patch number four is released.

However, may I suggest that some authority figure update the news banner at the top of these forums. It still says, "Patch #2 released!"

I would say you are wrong. I am just stating I bet the mac version patch will not be made available today. I hope I'm wrong!

Now we may be onto something - I didn't originally install it in the default directory. I made a very trivial change to the folder name "OOTP Developments" instead of "Out of the Park Developments".

And I downloaded it twice to make sure it wasn't just a fluke downloading error the first time. The file size is 59.1 MB, so I think it's complete.
