Uggh Randolph on the board and the Pacers take Bayless ... nice pick but would of rather had Randolph for sure ... No way he drops to 17. So maybe Hibbert at 17 or Kosta if he is still on the board.

Okay good Roy Hibbert at 17 ... he had a so-so senior year but he is a solid defensive Center ... and you can't teach 7'2"

I'm a bit mstified by Portland selecting Brandon Rush. Decent player, but the Blazers already have an All-Star at the 2. What is Kevin Pritchard up to?
(Apprently they are trading Rush to the Pacers for Jarrod Bayless, who makes more sense for the Blazers.) Last edited by Michael Hopcroft; 06-26-2008 at 09:16 PM. |

Arthur to Hornets, technically the Blazers. Will the Blazers trade him?

I wonder if he will make the Blazers rotation. The team needs depth and experience, and while the departure of James Jones leaves room the Blazers need an experienced 3 to compliment their young frontcourt. Arthur is a project at this point. And the Blazers first second-round pick is a player who won't be available to Portland for five years due to his contract with his Turkish club. |

What is up with the T-Wolves pick of Chalmers? This is what ESPN.com said
"The Timberwolves are selecting Chalmers on behalf of the Miami Heat, according to a league source. Pat Riley wanted a point guard, and he got one. In fact, Chalmers is one of the most NBA-ready guards in the draft. He can shoot, he can defend and he's a clutch player. He's kind of a poor man's O.J. Mayo. Great draft night for Miami." Why does Miami get him, I didn't read anything about trade so what's going on?

The Miami Heat have acquired the draft rights to Mario Chalmers from the Minnesota Timberwolves for cash and two second-round picks, according to a league source.

I simply said wingspan is more important than height, which it is. If 2 players are identical in ability and one player is 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan and another player is 6'10 with a 6'10 wingspan, you take the guy with the 7'2 wingspan. Simply put, it would be silly to shy away from a player because of an inch or 2 in height when he has such a large wingspan. |

Watch Hibbert turn into a great solid center for 10 years and O'Neal gone in 2.

Are you forgetting the fact that they traded Richard Jefferson for little more than a slightly increased chance to sign LeBron in 2 years?

So now it appears we just traded Mayo, that's great.

Overall good night for the Pacers ... lose Jarryd Bayless, Jermain O'Neal and Ike Diogu and gain TJ Ford, Brandon Rush, Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, and Roy Hibbert.
Plus we can dump Tinsley now. |

It is a fact.
Minnesota sends : the rights to OJ Mayo, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker and Greg Buckner. Memphis sends : the rights to Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Jason Collins. |
