Figured it was best not to completely derail the thread with it

So, that OOTP... Great.

That's Wordwang!

Redsox: Torrents are a wonderful thing I'm a former Brit myself. And of course I know what Mornington Crescent is.

Waterloo!

This whole thread now makes me want to watch "That Mitchell and Webb Look" again. And "Peep Show".

Back to OOTP: So this NEW new patch, I'm guessing the only fix is the logo generating thing?

Did you not notice that my letter "i" in misery is a link to a Wikipedia article on the subject?

No I didn't, sorry.

Meanwhile, back to what we were talking about OOTP8: I just made a new game from scratch, full majors and minors, and there was no shortage of personnel.

However, looking at the game started with the MLB quickstart, there were no minor league coaches or scouts. I started another game with the same quickstart, same result. I think it's the quickstart that's goofed up, as it was probably originally designed with 8.0.0.9.

Edit: OK, yes, they do know about this. I thought I remembered something about it and could not recall from where, but then I remembered this thread dedicated to the quickstart / roster set (posts #19 and 20):

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=158165

So, OK. I guess they will be reissuing the quickstart at a later date.

So is a patch for Mac necessary?

So it's just the MLB quickstart that's screwed then? That's good I guess.

Whoa! It runs on my XP SP2 system!

Click Start, then Run, and then type gpedit.msc in the box and hit the enter key. After that you don't get the Group Policy Object Editor? I surely do.

Well, maybe not "good," but surely not as bad as it could be.

Given I'm strictly fictional (well my gaming. I myself am real. I think...) it doesn't effect me.

And I'm strictly historical (well my sports gaming. I'm not that old. I think...)

Is it possible that he may be running XP home and that it doesn't contain that feature?

Geez. Do beta testers get builds this fast?

I'm not bothered, just teasing. I'd rather have patches than not.
