I think you may have missed my point: you don't have to sacrifice usability to make things simple, they're not mutually exclusive. The specific changes are not so much a problem as the possible change in philosophy is. With all its faults, some of the good things about 2006 was that it was a huge leap in the right direction usability-wise. It's just that it was a wrong step in the direction in regards to making things simple. Now all I'm saying is in the attempt to make things easy again, let's not regress the good that 2006 did usher in.
