By all that's holy, those that create websites but neglect to make their text easily readable should be arrested and detained in a controlled facility where they will be forced at gunpoint to create legible fonts for the rest of the Internet. I imagine the fellows that wrote that website both walk around in lime green golf pants and Arnold Palmer shirts with more bad checks than a Prague prison, and complain that their monitor and TV have shows only in black-and-white despite the HUE & SAT knobs being twisted past full and broken there.

For the rest of us, there's a simple trick I use to get around poor colour choices on websites: click and drag over the entire text to highlight it. This usually will render the text in easier-to-read colours. Highlighting is supposed to create a "louder" colour choice, but if the colours are already loud, then highlighting will usually tame them some. It also works great for text where the writer thinks that pale yellow on a white background is the best way to display important text.

I could not agree more. Seriously, there are so many websites that seem to delight in making text difficult to read. It makes me crazy.

And though I generally consider myself to be something of a Libertarian, when I'm Emperor, Twelvefield, they will be arrested, and detained. And they will create legible fonts.

BITMAPPED legible fonts. That's right. They'll have to create them over and over in different point sizes. Ahahahahahaha.

P.S. I love the idea of the split season schedule!

language is constantly growing, changing, expanding so ignore what anyone says about it because some gibberish you say today might be commonplace tomorrow. Word, true dat, that's off the chain son.

Actually, speaking prescriptively, the general rule is whether it already has a suffix or not. If it does, you usually use "more" to make a comparative. Other rules, too complicated to go into here, can make modifications to this generality, though.

All in all though, MD is right. Prescriptivism is really only necessary for language instruction. Otherwise, it's overkill. As long as we all understand each other, that's all that's necessary.

Two notes to the author of that interview and anybody else who ever wants to write something for public consumption:

1) please proofread, especially if you're asking someone for something (I'm not asking for perfection, everyone knows I'm not perfect at it neither with all my commas and what not, but it really is so much easier to read something the less mistakes it has);

2) plurals should not have apostrophes (there were so many in that interview that did that I'm surprised all the plurals didn't have apostrophes).

As a web designer, I would not have put the site together that way.

BUT....

Chances are Rick and Rich are LEARNING how to do a website as they're doing it. There's no harm in that at all. Everyone building their first few websites learns as they go. You can read all the books and get all the help you can find, but until you've put together sites and seen what works and what doesn't, you're not going to know firsthand.

Just my two cents, don't take it as anything more,

Will

If we can edit our own rosters, everything else can be done by hand.

(SIDE NOTE: Is Pierre still around? If so, has he been given access to the beta of the game so he can start working on new editors and mods? And on a related topic... PLG, if you're out there, could you build us an ASG editor? Oh, and new versions of some of your other editors would be sweet too! Thanks.)
Sorry, I was busy last couple of months, my best baseball partner (My Dad) passed away.
I have no access to the Beta team this year, so I have no idea of what is hapenning with the game.
I had no chance to take a look at the board anyway

Thanks

While we're at it, can we imprison web designers that choose to underline things that aren't links?!?

Sorry to hear that Pierre, I lost my football (soccer) buddy aka my Dad a few years back and even to this day going watching a game just isn't the same.
