jax was responding to somebody else who said Tampa Bay is a city. He knows it's a region and Tampa is the city. That's the point of his post. It was a challenge.

And this is also from earlier in the thread.

I can't believe they're considering a name change and yet the best alternatives they can come up with are the "Bay Rays" and something that looks just like "Tampons." Their stupidity really seems to know no bounds.

Do the Arizona Cardinals play in Phoenix if yes they need to be called the Phoenix Cardinals?
I think Pro teams shouldn't use the state name in their name because Miami Panthers and Miami Marlins sound better then Florida Panthers and Marlins!
They can't be called the Orlando Devil Rays of Tampa Bay because you are talking about 2 different cities in Florida!
Saints did it because their home stadium is still in New Orleans but played home games in San Antonio!
Orlando has the Twins and also the Cubs as a Double-A team who played at Tinker Field! The Rays played I think at both Tinker Field and Crack Jack Stadium! here's a link http://www.rogersimmons.com/sports/ for Orlando's Past and Present Sports teams
I think in the future Crack Jack Stadium will be home to a MLB team,UCF Knights current Stadium or Cracker Jack Stadium will be home of a NFL team and when the Magic get a new Arena TD Waterhouse Centre will be home to an NHL team!

I've always wanted a team to call itself The Pinheads.
