1. Close FaceTool (if you have it open)
2. Go to start --> Control Panel
3. There is a listing in the Control Panel called "BDE Administrator". Double-click it.
4. When that opens, down the left side of its window is a list of Databases. One of them is called FaceTool1. Delete that entry.
5. Close the Administrator, and reload FaceTool. It will ask you again for the paths and such, but after doing the above I had no more problems with it.

I'll give that a try. Thank you.

Great. I haven't even been able to do one picture. I'd really like to see how this works. Layton is very talented and from the few pages of this thread I've read it sounds like a really cool app. Well, maybe I'll get it working someday.

Well, I have regretfully given up on this utility because I do not know how to create uniforms and I have asked for help for well over a few weeks but no one has jump aboard. I have been trying some hrs during the day and then about 1hr at night on how to get custom unis in for my 6 teams I added to my MLB fictional league. Oh well................ I hope everyone else is enjoying this great utility.

What exactly is your uniform problem? Since I am not talented enought at this time to make my own, I have to use those made by others or let the game make them using the custom logos that I provide.

I do not know how to make custom uniforms. How do you get the proggy make the uniforms for you using the logos you provide, ect? All I need are six uniforms made. I can't use anyone elses because mine are different tha others. For example, I have teams called the Chaleston Hurricanes and Cay City Bombers, ect. Here is my link that I started about a month ago for help.

Does anyone know how a "Operation not applicable" error could be fixed?

I figured it out. I had to make a new league file (From my world template).
Not sure why it didn't work the first time. It may be something to do with leagues imported from 6.5.

What I do is to set my team colors and make sure that I have a logo for them. If I have a custom uniform, I designate it in the face tool program. If not, I do nothing. The face tool program should make a uniform using your logos.

Has anyone taken Devin up on this? It would be great if the program was still being improved.

OK, I've followed Cooley's and Eriq's instructions to a tee, wiped every trace of the Borland DBE etc. off and tried reinstalling, checked it with other csvs (all semi-colon delimited) dumps and changed my shortcuts.

First time I run the program, having selected the folders (or left them to default - I've tried moving both around into new locayiond) I get:
Access violation at address 004ed97d. Read of adress 0000000
This is the crucial error, and seems to be completely unavoidable.

If I ignore it, and import my csvs, I get:
Error: NationsTable: cannot perform this operation on closed dataset
This happens on any csvs I try to import, implying to me that it's tied to the original error

From there, future attempts to run the program get either the 'alias' issue or cannot read games.db. At this point, I purge my system of all FaceTool things, and BDE files, then try again, and the same thing happens.

Any help whatsoever would be greatfully appreciated - this looks like the most amazing thing in OOTP history. Has anyone had these issues and got through them?
Once, I (somehow) got it as far as importing the csvs, but when I ran it, no photos were produced.

As far as I can see, several people have had this error before me, but none have reported it resolved - Brife71, Manooly, JHruska, Robster49. Any of these guys ever get it working?

Include DreamTeams on this list, too.

I've since given up and gone the manual route. This actually works better for me because I'm able to switch out my custom home/away unies according to the game schedule. I'd love to automate this procedure, but my current manual process is pretty quick.

Cool - how does the manual route work? Is there a previous beta of the program that's easier? Or is it just a question of layering faces in photoshop?

Just to expand on what I've said here, if the wonderful LISMHB is about, whether you have a basic copy of the 'creator' (like an early beta) that wouldn't need to read the CSVs. Basically, I could just line it up with a uni, and it would blend the background, face etc. and create 10/20/30 pngs quicker than me individually moving each layer with photoshop.

It's a bit of a longshot, but I thought I'd ask in case you had one lying around!

If you have PhotoShop, and it sounds like you may, this thread will probably interest you. It sounds like what you are after as far as the initial player creation. You will have to take other steps to change uni's for trades/free agency.
