2000 career hits for Chandler

If you were a betting person and were asked if Mitch Chandler would pick up his 2000th Beer League hit tonight, after seeing the starting lineup and not finding his name on the card, you'd be forgiven for betting against it.

In the bottom of the 8th with Weyerbacher just adding another run to their 6-2 lead thanks to a Mike Schweikert home run the batter before; Mitch Chandler came up to pinch hit for John Iddiols. Charleville veteran reliever Amine Brissett threw a 2-1 fastball that Chandler grounded through the hole between the first and second basemen into right field for his 2000th career hit in the Beer League. He is the 5th player to reach that milestone.
