thanks, anything you need? Still haven't figured out how to do the Rockabillies or Hippos well
I remember I just got frustrated trying to draw off of a picture of a real tarantula, so I looked at pictures of kawaii plushees ![]() |

I hate to bother again but around 4 AM last night while I couldn't sleep, my brain was hit with an idea and I basically been obsessing over it all day so I figured I'd ask if you could make this logo for me. I imagined a team with light pastel type colors called the 'Old Dolls' with a picture of a run-down victorian looking doll as the logo. I haven't decided on a location for them yet but I'm debating between either somewhere in CT or maybe Milford or New Hope PA

Thank you for this strange prompt! I love it. Might take me a bit to think of a good way to make it work.
My first thought was something like the pose of the magic card, stuffy doll I just googled "Victorian baseball dolls" and it seems like there's a lot of possibilities there ![]() And you reminded me that I always wanted to use these bizarre baby baseball cards for something. |

My headcanon for this team is that they're officially called the [New Haven] Base Ball Club, and then before a game in the Union Association the opposing manager says "they'll crumble like an old doll", basically the Athletics' white elephant origin story. So they end up with a messed up old doll as their mascot. Around the turn of the century they rebrand as the Dolls using cutesy imagery of the time that would look unintentionally creepy to us now, like dolls in the outfield smiling too widely. In the 40s and 50s they probably have a creepy sexist rebrand as the Dolls. Basically this Cardinals pinup illustration, although I prob won't bother making that.
Then they finally settle into a modern identity, proudly back to that weird slumped dover doll, kind of like the Phillies, Dodgers or Mets, with their strange archaic names that are so permanent that the just make sense. Like Juventus, "the Old Lady", or even something like the Toledo Mud Hens. There might also be an updated "active baseball doll" character, kind of like Mr red, that oscillate between creepy and cutesy. The Old Dolls is just such a great idea. Please tell me more about what your league looks like that it can accommodate a name like that! ![]() |

That's a great backstory! My custom league is kind of odd, its basically like if a little kid toybox exploded into a baseball league ranging from rebranded versions of MLB teams (like the Expos moving to a small town in PA) and random teams named after or based on various songs, shows, poets and stuff like that too. I like using random players from all eras in it to see what it would be like if players like Shohei Ohtani existed at the same time to face Babe Ruth and stuff like that, though I mostly use the most random and obscure players from the 19th century, early negro leagues, Nippon, Pre-MLB players, and basically every college player I faced or played with I brought into the league too just to see how they would all fare against one another in a more 'evenly matched' league I guess you could call it? Who would have known Callix Crabbe and Bubber Jonnard would be world series heroes and make the hall of fame? I do play a historical one too but this one is just one I do for fun.
By the way I own 3 of those baby cards! I have Baby Kelly, Dixey Jr., and Mull Tobin.

I love that it's an octagon, but tilted so it doesn't immediately read as an octagon (to me, at least, who's used to octagons being STOP signs).

San Antonio Tarantulas improved
Thanks about the octagon, that was exactly my thought process. It had to be an octagon frame, but I didn't want it to look like a stop sign.
Due to the praise for my tarantula head, I've gone ahead to draw the eight legs! ![]() Last edited by 20_range; 01-31-2025 at 09:57 PM. |

Do you think you could do a logo for Seattle Experience? I'd like to use a20e6f and efcb01 as the colors. They're from the cover of the Jimi Hendrix album Are You Experienced?

Seattle Experience 1
I was able to scan the text "experience" from the album cover, and I googled Hendrix Seattle poster until I found one with usable text "Seattle".
I put a baseball where the picture of the band is on the album cover (the seams are made of part of the H in Hendrix from the album cover). I put a white outline around it for the dark background, although it looks a little weird, it's better than without the outline. The whole thing's ok for a first try, I'm not sure how to make it more ornate like the poster or look for like it's from that era but I'm open to ideas. Pretty happy with the x from the bottom of the album cover as the small logo. edit: slightly improved. better seam, wider outline Last edited by 20_range; 02-01-2025 at 10:46 PM. |

That looks great. Using the lettering from the album cover was an unexpected, but fantastic touch.

San Diego / Tijuana Californias/ Calis
My league takes place in a better timeline than ours and here is my unified San Diego - Tijuana team. I was messing around with that layout in the previous Baltimore logo when I realized the team should be called las Californias/ Calis, since it represents both Baja and [Alta] California, a trans-international area sometimes called The Californias.
Then I decided to theme it around "Queen Califia" the fictional character (!) who the region is named after (?). Then I decided to trace/draw/adapt a Diego Rivera mural version of her. ![]() I think eventually I will get better at monograms and improve this one, and several others. I did a C hat logo as well. |

San Diego / Tijuana Californias/ Calis uniforms
I also made uniforms! With the help of txranger to figure out how to do the Padres-style city connect sleeves. the away uniforms are the same, just with gray instead of white.

SDT Calis hat
and a hat
![]() I will continue to only rarely make uniforms, and I don't really think in their terms, but I was excited to finally come up with a concept for this one and add it to my game. |

That covers the next expansion, but if you need more ideas the expansion after that (and hopefully final for a while) currently includes: - Astana Antelope - Oslo Vikings/Sarajevo Cable Cars (one or the other - and those names aren't set so open to ideas!) - Kigali Gorillas - Lanzhou Traders - Puerto Montt Cruisers The others are currently ones you've already made (e.g. the Dutch snail one, Milwaukee Gatherers, Incheon Saucers, Detroit Spinners)

thanks - I'm still sure there's a better team name idea for that hat, but I liked attaching it to that great old Federal League name actually I could also put other hats on top of that ball, like a chef or a Napoleon hat... in fact... |
