My head is spinning!

I'm pretty sure it's involving schedules. I should be able to fix it tonight, I hope.

Happy I could help. I'll edit the original post to reflect it, but I didn't list the retired players that were in my first post to you on the topic in the most recent list. Those players were:

Hayden Penn
Jim Hoey
Casey Janssen
Tony Abreu
Troy Patton
Felipe Paulino
Ross Detwiler
Davis Romero

I'm sorry if my leaving them out of my most recent list has caused you any extra work. I fixed them in my version before I went to make a definitive list, which caused the screwup.

Cheers.

Another incorrectly retired player, unfortunately for them, is Jason Schmidt. Think the Dodgers still owe him 15 mil or so, for one more year.

Not at home still, but my idea is that perhaps something with automatching the XML schedules is screwing things up. If someone wants to try, turn off "auto adjust date if matching XML file is found" for all of the minor leagues.

I'm not getting any errors on my end with simming so that's all that comes to mind so far.

Well I fixed the error in the file sent to me, not sure how yet.

EDIT: This is fixable actually for those of you who are already using this set. You have to turn off ghost players, something with that is causing the glitch. You can do this by going to League Setup, and while on MLB click the options tab, and uncheck the box next to "Allow Incomplete Minor League Rosters." I also computer automanaged after this.

It looks like I'm going to have to either create fictional players in R/SS so that we don't run into the problems with the computer also having an illegal (too little) amount of players with this option turned off. I'm going to fill R/SS with fake players, turn off ghost players, and upload a WORKING (woohoo!) 1.5 version.

Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Enjoy guys. Put in some new aging modifiers that I've been using in a personal league that seem to work really well for keeping the youngsters from coming along TOO quickly with their higher ratings and keep the older guys playing for a while although some of them still fall off.

Let me know if anyone has the crash still, I'm hoping this will fix it. There IS crappy fictional players at the SS/R leagues in this release, but to be honest, it was either put them in initially or you would have drafted them in June anyway, so doesn't make much of a difference.

Enjoy!

Cubby, does this update have all of the other changes such as un-retired players, deleted duplicate players, and recent trades / signings? Also, what types of schedules are being used, are they real schedules or did you generate random schedules?
Thanks again

No on the un-retired players, yes on recent transactions.

Thanks for all your hard work Cubby, it is much appreciated.

I haven't downloaded the latest roster version because I was tinkering with the old one, but I was wondering if you (or anyone else who has it) could post those development settings you were talking about in this board.

A few recent transactions you are missing:

Eric Hinske to the Pirates
Jon Garland to the Diamondbacks (I think you have his stuff rating too low, btw)
Ty Wiggington to the Orioles
Eddie Guadardo to the Rangers

I made a quickstart with most of the retired players restored with their values as assigned in your v1.1 and with the duplicate players deleted. Let me know if you want me to send that to you somehow.

Thanks for getting the crash problem sorted, and for the efforts in general.

I'm trying to salvage my 1.4 game in progress and haven't had any luck with the fix above. I disabled ghost players and ran the auto-manager on all AI teams, plus my own for good measure, and still crash when I try and sim past Sept 6, 2010. Anyone else try the fix? Did it work for you?

Go ahead and upload your file too and I'll take a look to make sure there's no other issues.

I just wanted to start by saying that I have enjoyed your work in the past cubbyfan and it is always spectacular.

However, I have a problem. I downloaded the latest version of your rosters and am having some problems. I extracted the file to the saved games folder in "My Documents", however when I go to load the game I receive the following message:

"Database::Load_Database_could not load nations file"
Which then leads to this message:
"loading of database failed, it is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version"

BTW I am using version 9.1.0 of the game.

can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am sure it is something blatantly obvious lol

Hey CubbyFan thanks for this.

Just curious, did you come up with all the ratings yourself?

This might be a dumb question, but how do I adjust the 40 man without having to send a player through waivers?
