Milling Series - Game 2: #3 Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow (90-72; 5th post season appearance) vs #2 WC Russian River Blind Pig (89-73; 10th post season appearance)

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th, Three Floyds first baseman Jeff Hudson stepped up to the plate with Justin Russell on second and Eric Fuller on third and a chance to give the Apocalypse Cow a walk off win to tie up the series with Russian River. Hudson proceeded to stroke a 2-1 fastball into center field, scoring Fuller to tie the game; but Russell was held up at third rather than challenge the arm of Blind Pig center fielder Andy Mendoza. That decision would come back to haunt Three Floyds as Russian River second baseman Josh Bomar would drive in 2 runs in the top of the 12th to give his club a 6-4 lead. Jose Aguilar would make that lead hold up as the Blind Pig claimed a 2-0 series lead as they head home for game 3.

Milling Series - Game 2: #4 Sleeping Giant Beaver Duck (88-74; 4th post season appearance) vs #1 WC Red Rock Elephino (92-70; 4th post season appearance)

Red Rock got a solid game from center fielder Terry Sampson, who went 2-for-4 with 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored to help lead his club to a 6-1 victory in game 2. Starter Billy Feeley earned the player of the game award for his 6.1 innings of work, giving up 5 hits and 1 run with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts as the Elephino tied up the series 1-1

Milling Series - Game 2: #1 Texas Leaguer Chin Music (99-63; 4th post season appearance) vs #4 WC Firefly Hollow Dire Chinchilla (82-80; 5th post season appearance)

If there was a correlation between the fortunes of the starting pitcher and the outcome of the game, Texas Leaguer would have been in dire straits as starter Max Olmos went down after just 4 outs with an injury, and had to turn the game over to the bullpen. Thankfully for the Chin Music, the bullpen was up to the challenge, as Simers (4 innings, 3 hits, no runs), Brown (1 innings, no hits/runs), Johnson (0.1 innings, no hits/runs), Wade (0.1 innings, no hits/runs) and Dorsett (2 innings, 3 hits, 1 run) would keep Firefly Hollow off balance the rest of the way to secure a 3-1 victory and a 2 games to none lead in the series

Milling Series - Game 2: #2 Goose Island Goslings (92-70; 4th post season appearance) vs #3 WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (83-79; 8th post season appearance)

Horsefly was cruising along with a 5-1 lead after the top half of the 6th inning, hoping to finish off the Goslings and nab a win on the road to even up the series. Unfortunately for the Jazzy Razzy and their fans, Goose Island woke up and picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th, and 3 more runs in the bottom of the 7th to nab a 6-5 lead. The Goslings bullpen would shut down Horsefly for the final 3 innings to secure the victory and a 2 games to none lead in the series

Milling Series - Game 2: #3 Mispillion River Space Otters (88-74; 3rd post season appearance) vs #2 WC Tree House Tornado (83-79; 8th post season appearance)

Mispillion River starter Steve Nutty picked the perfect time to have one of the best games of his career, as he tossed an impressive 6.1 innings in game 2, giving up just 1 hit and no runs, with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts before turning things over to his bullpen. Ruben Sotillo would finish off the last 2.2 innings, giving up just 1 hit of his own as the Space Otters claimed a 2-0 victory to take a matching 2-0 series lead.

Milling Series - Game 2: #4 Sierra Nevada Narwhals (86-76; 4th post season appearance) vs #1 WC Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot (85-77; 10th post season appearance)

Sierra Nevada's Chris Martin (5 innings, no hits, no runs, no walks, 5 strikeouts) had a solid effort in game 2, but was pulled after 81 pitches. Perhaps if he was allowed to continue his solid start, the game would have ended differently for the Narwhals. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, and Weyerbacher took advantage of the Sierra Nevada bullpen to pick up 2 runs in the 7th and 3 more in the 9th to claim a 5-1 victory to even up the series at 1-1

Milling Series - Game 3: #1 Toboggan Lunatic Fridge (97-65; 7th post season appearance) vs #4 WC Tattered Flag Man of War (86-76; 3rd post season appearance)

Lunatic Fridge starter and All-Time wins leader Bobby Rodriguez tossed a solid 5.2 innings against Tattered Flag, giving up 4 hits and no runs with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts before turning the game and a 1-0 lead over to the relief squad. Unfortunately for Toboggan, the bullpen couldn't hold the Man of War down and they snatched a victory with 3 late runs to claim a 3-1 win and a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.

Milling Series - Game 3: #2 Smog City Sabre Toothed Squirrels (95-67; 2nd post season appearance) vs #3 WC Prairie Sun Mad Hopper (87-75; 1st post season appearance)

Smog City second baseman Kevin Sibert swung the hot bat for his club in game 3, as he went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs to help lead his club to a 5-1 victory over Prairie Sun. The Sabre Toothed Squirrels now lead the best of 5 series 2 games to 1

Milling Series - Game 3: #3 Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow (90-72; 5th post season appearance) vs #2 WC Russian River Blind Pig (89-73; 10th post season appearance)

As Three Floyds tried to tell themselves before the series started... don't let the wild card tag fool you, as Russian River wasn't your typical wild card team. After winning the first two games on the road, the Blind Pig returned to the Pig Pen for game 3, just needing one more win to finish off the series and head to the next round. Three Floyds would receive an outstanding performance from their pitching staff, with starter Mike Stevens giving up just 2 hits in 5.2 innings of work; but he also walked 4 batters and gave up 2 runs, despite holding Russian River to just those 2 hits. The bullpen wouldn't allow a single hit or run the rest of the way, which at first glance would seem a positive thing for the club. Unfortunately for Three Floyds, Blind Pig starter Scott DuBois would also have a solid game, going 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. His bullpen would toss an equally impressive 2.2 innings of work, allowing just 1 hit and no runs, as Russian River claimed a 2-1 victory to sweep the series in 3 games

Milling Series - Game 3: #4 Sleeping Giant Beaver Duck (88-74; 4th post season appearance) vs #1 WC Red Rock Elephino (92-70; 4th post season appearance)

Sleeping Giant left fielder Jeff Wright did the Beaver's share of the damage (or was it the Duck's share?) from the leadoff position, as he went 3-for-5 with a run scored and 4 RBIs to lead his club to a 7-3 victory in game 3 and a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.

Milling Series - Game 3: #1 Texas Leaguer Chin Music (99-63; 4th post season appearance) vs #4 WC Firefly Hollow Dire Chinchilla (82-80; 5th post season appearance)

It was a sweet song for the Chin Music as the cruised to a 6-1 victory in game 3 to sweep Firefly Hollow and advance to the Mashing Series. Right fielder and leadoff batter Mark Stonecipher did the heavy damage, going 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs to help lead the club. On the mound, starter Jackson Wagner tossed a solid 7.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 unearned run with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts to keep the Dire Chinchilla off the scoreboard as much as possible.

Milling Series - Game 3: #2 Goose Island Goslings (92-70; 4th post season appearance) vs #3 WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (83-79; 8th post season appearance)

Hoping to avoid a sweep at the hands of Goose Island, Horsefly got a heapin' helpin' of home cookin' to get them into the win column, as right fielder Zachary Brown and designated hitter David Beyer provided the lion's share of the offense from the 2-3 holes. Brown went 3-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs, while Beyer went 2-for-4 with 1 run scored and 4 RBIs as Horsefly cruised to a 12-1 victory to cut the Goslings series lead to 2-1

Milling Series - Game 3: #3 Mispillion River Space Otters (88-74; 3rd post season appearance) vs #2 WC Tree House Tornado (83-79; 8th post season appearance)

With the game tied 2-2 heading into the 9th inning, Tree House sent rookie reliever Rory Siegel out to open the inning after tossing a scoreless 8th. Siegel would pick up one out in the 9th before the Space Otters would tag him for 3 hits and 3 runs to jump out to a 5-2 lead. That score would hold up as Mispillion River reliever Jorge Mendiola would close out the game and the series 3 games to none.

Milling Series - Game 3: #4 Sierra Nevada Narwhals (86-76; 4th post season appearance) vs #1 WC Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot (85-77; 10th post season appearance)

Blithering Idiot veteran third baseman Jorge Reynoso did the heavy hitting in game 3, going 2-for-4 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored to lead his club to an 8-3 victory and a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.

thanks.... slowed down a bit recently with a move to a new house and the controlled chaos that follows getting things settled.... hoping once I finish out the current season to shift over to v23 and might take a shot at broadcasting Beer League games on twitch for a little extra fun.

Milling Series - Game 4: #1 Toboggan Lunatic Fridge (97-65; 7th post season appearance) vs #4 WC Tattered Flag Man of War (86-76; 3rd post season appearance)

In a must win game, Toboggan received a key hit from an unlikely source. Light hitting catcher Bob Arnette went 1-for-4 in the game, but that one hit was a big 2 run blast as the Lunatic Fridge picked up a 5-1 win to even up the series at 2 games each.

Milling Series - Game 4: #2 Smog City Sabre Toothed Squirrels (95-67; 2nd post season appearance) vs #3 WC Prairie Sun Mad Hopper (87-75; 1st post season appearance)

Prairie Sun fed off a raucous home crowd hoping to spur their team to victory, and avoid the end of their season. Second baseman Chris Silverman was up to the task, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam, 5 RBIs and a run scored to lead his club to a 7-4 victory to even the series at 2

Milling Series - Game 4: #2 Goose Island Goslings (92-70; 4th post season appearance) vs #3 WC Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (83-79; 8th post season appearance)

The final score belies the closeness of the actual game, as Goose Island held a slim 3-2 lead heading into the final inning. The Jazzy Razzy hoped to keep things as is to give them a shot at winning in the last at bat and prolong the series. Unfortunately for the home crowd, the Goslings blasted Horsefly with 5 runs in the top of the 9th to extend the lead to 8-2, and would make that stand to claim the series 3 games to 1
