he's a huge upgrade over Gord Ash,
Dood it's Gord Ash! Thats like saying JP's better than Jim Bowden. An innatimate carbon rod could run a team better than Ash could (well ok, maybe not Bowden)

Gibbons needs to go. Obviously Lilly shouldn't have shown him up, but that's no excuse for getting into a physical altercation with him. There was no excuse for him to challenging Hillenbrand to a fight, either. Managers are supposed to be respected by their players, and getting into fights with them isn't the way to go about it.

JP needs to go as well. He overpaid for Burnett, giving superstar money to a guy with a losing record. He overpaid for Ryan as well. Yeah, he's been good, but it's still too much money for to pay a closer who had one break-out year. His lack of ability to do anything at the trade deadline was troubling, as well. I've seen no evidence that he couldn't be out-performed by any OOTP player, save mgsports.

Rogers sucks as owners, too. Way to send the team the message that you're throwing in the towel while still in contention. Nothing says "give up, boys" like giving up two players for PTBN in August.

It's a shame they're going to lose Wells, whom they won't be able to replace because they're saddled with JP's overspending. Oh well. Maybe next season I'll be able to afford Extra Innings and I can watch Cardinals games again, instead.

C'mon, BP fanboy, being a veteran doesn't make you any more likely to start getting guys out after giving up 7 runs in an inning. Are you contending he was gonna start bearing down now that the lead was 1 run?

You can badmouth Bowden all you want, but getting Kearns and Lopez for a couple middle relievers and a washed up Royce Clayton was a genius move.

My boy Adam Lind (formerly with the FishCats - now with Syracuse) was named Eastern League MVP yesterday!

And the Jays' 1st rd pick (14th overall) this last draft, Travis Snider, was named MVP of the Rookie League. The only problem is they're both outfielders and I'm not sure that's really what we need. Still, it's great to hear and they could be traded for what we do need.

I really think that Lind will be your LF next season. I saw an awful lot of him this year, and he looks about as ready as any other 'spect that I've seen

Lind/Wells/Rios isn't a bad combo out there, as long as Rios can bounce back from that malady

I heart him because he's on the 2013 Oakland A's in my solo league.

Oh my... I think we just might have seen a new play in tonight's game, the Rios play. Alex just bobbled the ball several feet into Fenway's right field stands for a home run.

EDIT: Did I hear correctly that those two runs were earned? How in the world is that? Surely that has got to be an error.

You never know what you'll need in the future. Remember when our middle infield was set with Adams and Hill? Oh, and when we had like 8 million catching prospects? How about all the can't-miss pitching prospects?

Prospects fail. Needs change. You can't have too many of anything.

Jays take 2nd!

An awesome pitching performance from Marcum tonight, throwing 8 innings of 2 hit ball, walking 1 and striking out 10.
