Fermentation Series - Game 4: #3 WC Funky Buddha Huki Idol (86-76, 5th post season) vs #4 WC Russian River Blind Pig (84-78, 9th post season, 1 championship) With nothing left to lose in an 0-3 hole, Funky Buddha let loose and just enjoyed playing the game. Miguel Ochoa went 2-for-3 to raise his post season average to .464, and picked up one RBI and 2 runs scored; wihle Alejandro Rivera cranked a 3 run home run to help lead the Huki Idol to a 6-2 win, closing the series deficit to 3-1 |

Fermentation Series - Game 5: #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #2 Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot (93-69, 9th post season, 2 championships)
In the cliched pivotal game 5, Horsefly and Weyerbacher played a back-n-forth game, with the Blithering Idiot grabbing an early 1-0 lead in the first; then adding on with another run in the third to make it 2-0. In the top of the 7th, Horsefly struck back with a grand slam from Noboyuki Imamura to give the Jazzy Razzy a 4-2 lead. Weyerbacher would pull even with 2 runs in the 8th to make it 4-4. The game would extend to extra innings, when last year's BCS MVP Alex Arias stepped up with a runner on first and cranked a ball to the deepest part of the park. Justin Devlin motored around second, towards third, ran through the stop sign from the third base coach and sprinted home with the game winning run as the Blithering Idiot claimed a 5-4 win and a 3 games to 2 series lead. |

Russian River left no doubt as to the outcome of game 5, as they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first thanks to a 2 run homer by Rico Mendieta. In the second inning, they tagged on 4 more runs to make it 6-0. Another run in the fourth, and one more in the fifth extended the lead to 8-0, as the Blind Pig coasted to an 8-1 victory and a 4 games to 1 series win. |

Fermentation Series - Game 6: #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #2 Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot (93-69, 9th post season, 2 championships)
Horsefly used an all around team effort in game 6, as everyone in the batting lineup picked up at least one hit; as the Jazzy Razzy claimed a 5-3 victory to force a deciding game 7. |

2028 Beer League playoffs - Brewery Championship Series:
In what could be seen as the ultimate David vs Goliath matchup, the top seeded 105 win Jazzy Razzy will take on the lowest seed 84 win Blind Pig. Of course, that is a shallow view of the matchup, as Russian River isn't your typical 84 win team #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #4 WC Russian River Blind Pig (84-78, 9th post season, 1 championship) |

Brewery Championship Series - Game 1: #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #4 WC Russian River Blind Pig (84-78, 9th post season, 1 championship)
Horsefly starter Chris Rhone could do no wrong in game 1, tossing an impressive 7 innings, giving up just 2 hits and no runs with no walks and 10 strikeouts before turning things over to the bullpen. With a slim 2-0 lead in the 9th inning and Amine Brisset on the mound, Russian River finally got something going on offense. Joey Stokman led off with a single. Kevin Nixon walked, and Dave Harley reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. Rico Mendieta grounded a slow roller to short but was thrown out at first. Stokman scored on the play and the other runners advanced to 2nd and 3rd. Up next, Andrew Quinlan was intentionally walked to load the bases again. Rich Gulley lined out to right field, but too shallow for the runners to advance. Horsefly made a pitching change to bring in lefty Michael Battle to face Cody Adams. Adams would ground out to third and the game was over. Horsefly held on for the 2-1 win and a 1-0 series lead. |

For the second game in a row, Horsefly received a top notch performance from their starter. Brewery Championship Series - Game 3: #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #4 WC Russian River Blind Pig (84-78, 9th post season, 1 championship)
Russian River used a tag-team effort on the mound with Hartley (2.2 innings, 3 hits, 1 run), DuBois (4 innings, 2 hits, no runs), Roberts (0.1 innings, no hits, no runs), Banuelos (1.2 innings, 2 hits, no runs), and Crossley (0.1 innings, no hits, no runs) kept Horsefly off balance for most of the game. Brewery Championship Series - Game 4: #1 Horsefly Jazzy Razzy (105-57, 7th post season) vs #4 WC Russian River Blind Pig (84-78, 9th post season, 1 championship)
If you were one of those types who like to get a jump on traffic and leave the game after the 8th inning, then you missed all of the action. Through 8 innings, Russian River held the Jazzy Razzy to just 5 hits and 1 run, holding a slim 3-1 lead as they looked to even up the series. Unfortunately for Blind Pig fans, regulation baseball games are 9 innings long. A recap of the 9th (get comfortable, and perhaps some snacks and a beverage... this could take awhile): Mike Roberts on the mound for Russian River after tossing the 8th inning and giving up just one hit. -Armando Barbosa - walks on 5 pitches -Don Blaquiere - fly out to right field, Barbosa remains at 1st -Hector Davila - walks on 5 pitches, Barbosa to 2nd -Steve Surber - walks on 6 pitches, Barbosa to 3rd, Davila to 2nd (Roberts obviously out of gas at this point, but the Blind Pig manager sticks with him) -David Beyer - walks on 6 pitches, Barbosa scores, Davila to 3rd, Surber to 2nd (3-2 Russian River leads) -Roberts pulled and replaced with lefty Pete Crossley -Mitch Chandler - with the infield in and heavily shifted to the left, Chandler slices one into the right-center gap, Davila, Surber and Beyer score; Chandler to 2nd with a double (5-3 Horsefly leads) -Nobuyuki Imamura - singles to center, Chandler scores from 2nd (6-3 Horsefly leads) -Dylan Thomas - intentional walk to try and setup the double play -Victor Contreras - blasts a home run over the right field wall (9-3 horsefly leads) -Crossley pulled and replaced with righty Juan Saldana -Armando Barbosa - second at bat in the inning, grounds out to short - 2 out -Don Blaquiere - second at bat in the inning, strikes out swinging (poor Don, big offensive inning and he accounted for two of three outs) Horsefly would shut down the Blind Pig in the bottom of the 9th and celebrate the 9-3 victory, taking a 3 games to 1 lead in the series |

For the second time this series, Horsefly starter Chris Rhone had an impressive game, going 7.2 innings, giving up just 5 hits and no runs with no walks and 10 strikeouts before turning the game over to the bullpen. Brent Johnson tossed 1.1 innings, giving up no hits and no runs to preserve the shutout as the Jazzy Razzy cruised to a 6-0 victory and a 4 games to 2 series victory to claim their first Beer League title. Chris Rhone was awarded the series MVP |
