Error & can't find file

I get a message "error creating database alias" then when I try to load my league I get a message "file not found". I changed the preference thing in OOTP, so what am I doing wrong?

Disregard. I have it working.

First, right-click on your FaceTool desktop shortcut and select properties. Then make sure that C:\Program Files\OOTP FaceTool is put in the box for Start In.

Also make sure that your OOTP game preferences are set to use the semicolon delimeter for CSV files and NOT a comma.

Finally, read the instructions from the beta version of the program at http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...&postcount=117

Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to choose 0 for both min at bats and IP before running the program?

It defaults to 500 and 150 respectivly, but if you left those settings alone, there would be player pics that do not get created.

I was wondering about that setting too. I used 0 and 0 when I ran it on my league because I want everyone to have a photo.

I chose 0 for both fields, and the app made 4901 players for me. Granted, it took 20 minutes to do so, and the PC was useless to do ANYTHING else during that time.

I think the min qualifiers are there to allow a measure of control over who gets a pic and who remains anonymous.

Now that I have it working I'd like to say this thing rules! It's something I had hoped for, though I had no idea if it could be achieved and I thank the creator for the hard work. I love it!

I am able to use the program error free right after installing it. Any time I attempt to use it after the initial usage, I get an error message stating "Could not create alias FaceTool1". Why is this? If I uninstall the program then reinstall, it will work again, but only once.

Also EVERY time I start the program it says it's my first time running it. Should it be doing this?

Did you dump the CSV again?

This will fix your problem with not being able to create the alias database and the program thinking that it's your first time running it.

Yes I did a dump again. Charlie Hough's solution did fix the problem. BTW, Hough was one of my favorite pitchers during his playing days since the Dodgers and Rangers are my 2 favorite teams.

I am getting this error a lot.

Access violation at address 00403B32 in module "FaceTool.exe". Read of address 00000018.

I have been able to get the program to run once in a while, but the above error prevails the majority of the time. I have also followed all the instructions as posted in this thread.

I'm just thinking outloud here: is it possible to use a photo of a real player, carefully sized and aligned with Face Tool?

For example, I take a Roger Clemens photo, make sure his forehead is lined up with the template's forehead, his chin lined up with the template's, etc. . ?

Maybe it's not possible or feasibly easy right now, but could this get some support later maybe?

I'm not affiliated with the tool, but I can answer that it is absolutely possible. If you look in the directory where you installed, you will see a graphics subdirectory and in there (in another subdirectory, I forget exactly what it's called, but the name is obvious) are all of the players' photos. You could add your photo there (after making it match) and then use it specifically for Clemens by selecting his ID in the tool and making a photo for just him.

Good luck!
