OL Schedule S286 - 2039
Some games have been played. If yours were against the Robins, you got rocked. Instead of my usual rant, I'll just say, based on OL's proportion of S286 teams, PT owes us about 40 more OL games. Thankfully, Washington got a decent amount of games. Good luck to all.

G354 OL Schedule
PT does its usual mediocre job. Based on the percentage of OL teams, there should have been about 60 more OL games. Some have been played. By the way, not sure I'll be able to keep up with gold and silver standings daily, so a volunteer for gold would be nice.

Iron league:
just the four teams again (O'Fallon, Stephensville, Steelport and Gotham).... this round, O'Fallon is banished to the AC while the other three team are in the NC. OL games: Stephensville - 16 Steelport - 25 Gotham - 26 O'Fallon - 3 OL teams off to a hot start with the "worst" of us percentage-wise at 11-6 .647 in Stephensville leading the NC Central... and I'm just going to ignore O'Fallon and hope they just keep rolling along.

With the acquisition of 97 Scott Rolen, who has been on the wish list for a *long* time, the Cottons have finally completed the transformation into becoming the FTP meta killer. There's something so satisfying about getting that last piece of a rebuild, like completing a jigsaw puzzle.
Has anyone else grabbed a particularly satisfying player recently?

So, I first rolled a team with max hitter settings and tried to get the best defense possible at the expense of everything, seeing if I could maximize the impact of that defense. That... mostly lead to losses, so I switched it up and did the complete opposite, turning the team into the most fearsome possible hitters at the expense of any defense whatsoever (during this time, I never upgraded my pitching staff either). Eventually, after some pitching upgrades, the Cottons hit Diamond under this max park setting strategy. There I realized that I didn't have the power that some of the random teams did, so I turned the POW settings all the way down and went full CON and GAP (same settings as a lot of teams, like chazzycat's SmallBallers for example). They played under those settings for a while, until 2 weeks ago when I decided that I might actually have more power than the overall OL meta, and turned the hitter settings back up. For some reason this basically just helped everyone else get more runs without helping me much, so together with some luck the Cottons got relegated. I decided that I should really go back to their Bold Strategy roots, so I rolled up a new plan: There are so many good lefty teams that the playoffs are basically chock full of them. So, I decided to rebuild the Cottons to dominate lefty teams at both home and away. Home is easy, away is hard. I noticed that lefty teams are VERY reliant on GAP to generate offense. Some lefty players have power (Ruth, Yas, McCovey), but for the most part the goal of a lefty team was to suppress HRs and win by out-contacting the opponent. So I decided I was going to go with minimum GAP and minimum lefty CON. However, since lefty hitters are a very good source of runs, I wanted to make sure I still represented lefties on my team. So I slid lefty POW all the way up and went out and bought some lefty power hitters. This meant that my vR platoon could still have lots of good lefties on it both home and away, but those lefty CON teams were really punished if they tried to come in and do their usual thing. I also needed baserunners, so I slid righty CON all the way up. This meant I have a LOT of righties on the team, but I noticed that power is a much more common feature in righty hitters than in lefties. I also already had power from the lefties, so I slid righty POW all the way down. TL;DR: The Cottons are running -LCON, +RCON, -GAP, +LPOW, -RPOW since it's the most off the wall, anti-meta, "Bold strategy" I can think of.

Also, damn that Special Edition George Sisler is a monster. And a rare lefty that hits lefties too.

First batch of G354 standings here. Ozark was unbeaten for the day and thus sit on top, but Auckland, New York, Port Ruppert, Janesville, Harbour Town, and Sanguine all over .500 in OL play so far and have their eyes on moving up the table.
Sympathy has to go to CliffMarkle for making an absolute mess of their first 19 OL games. Let's hope they turn it around sooner rather than later. |

As reminder, I included it in my bronze final standings post Sunday morning I am on a two week road show followed by two weeks of vacation so I will not be able to contribute bronze OL standings during this period. I probably won’t even be able to log in and see how my teams are doing until Thursday morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Somebody mentioned getting major upgrade for their team this year. Actually, all three of my teams have gotten major upgrades in the last seven days:
Battery Point: Dykstra (RF) + Eddie Plank (LSP) + (Minor Upgrade Jose Reyes to platoon with Carew at 1B) Southern Southpaws: Dykstra (CF) + Eddie Plank (LSP) + (Minor Upgrade Jose Reyes to platoon with Carew at 1B) Weston Pointe: Eddie Plank (LSP)+(Minor Upgrade Francisco Lindor (87) at 2B)

![]() if you add up the 'last 7' price on the five special edition cards I have on my roster and compare that to how much I paid overall for those five collections, I think I come out about 120,000 points ahead.... worst case you don't need the reward and you just make a profit selling it, but I'll have a heck of a time finding better replacements for them on my roster |
