Good question, but I did this at the game setup phase so IIUC there should be no players at that stage.

You should be right, but it probably should be confirmed before Cubby uses it.

I thought it was determined at one time that there was serious problems with talent distribution when using feeder leagues???

I've had some success in my testing, by setting the cities, weather conditions, and if applicable the ballpark factors and only after that filling the rosters with fictional players. The player talent matches the overall team better.

Alright here's what I'm doing, I've combined the file with the World Template that was out there for now so that we have indy leagues, the KBO, etc. as other leagues along with the Nippon historical league (and of course the MLB setup). I'll be releasing that, as well as just a regular "MLB only" file so you can choose which to play with.

Hanging out with some friends now, but I'll be uploading it later on tonight.

I tried that for the roster I have been working on, it turns out badly. The file starts to take forever to load, and save. And I have an absolute beast of a computer. This will be basically unplayable on a below average PC. You are better off just adding Murmur's Japanese set and then adding the other leagues in yourself.

If you have chosen your draft to be feeder + generated players- you are probably drafting all AI generated players. An easy way to check this is to see if any of your draftees have college experience- if they don't- they are not from your feeder league.

I could be wrong- and maybe you have found a work around- but I messed with this for hours several months ago- and no matter what I did- once I tried to associate Foz's feeder league with any other MLB type league- it lost it's feeder designation.

Now, perhaps Redsoxford has found a way to change the association through one of the exported files- I don't know.

The way I did it was to save Cubby's roster as a template; then you can start a new game with this template and add an NCAA feeder league with the exact same subleague configurations for conferences and teams as Foz's template. Export all files to CSV. Then, using Excel you can swap out the team names from Foz's exported teams.csv with Cubby's teams.csv that you exported using the new college feeder. You can also do the same for the cities and park data as well as the team colors Foz worked so hard to get right for all 112 teams. You also have to add a dummy character into the historical ID field in teams.csv file for reimporting (I just entered in "A" for all the teams s the field isn't used anyway). You then re-import the teams.csv back into cubby's roster using Redsoxford's most excellent import program and everything works perfectly- and the league retains feeder status. The whole process takes about 20 minutes or so. I can do it for Cubby if he wants if you guys can't get it sorted out.

I really hope you're right about reimporting a feeder league team as a template and retaining feeder status- because you're right- that would be even easier- but it simply doesn't work for me. Can you check your league out again and verify for us?

Sorry about that Nomar....it does NOT retain feeder status...that really sucks...all of the players are AI generated

2007 locates the files in your documents folder, Unzip to Mydocuments/Sportsinteractive/OOTP2007/data/savedgames

This is to work with Vista.

Its not until you run the game once that the folder exists. Start the game when you get to the main intro screen quit and the folder should be there

Question

do not know if anyone else has encountered this problem and apologies to all if this is in the section of the forum.

I set up the CubbyFan23/haveband roster set and add myself to manager list and take a team.

On the 31st January 2007 Windows encounters a problem with OOP2007 and of course terminates the application.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks for any help in advance

Alright Cubby, I downloaded this new 2.5 version... created a high school feeder league... turned on waivers, got to Jan. 31, and OOTP2007.exe encountered a problem and needed to shut down. Don't know if it did that because I turned on waivers or if it's something else maybe I did that the game didn't like, either way, just wanted to make you aware of it if it is a universal problem.

Also, while browsing I noticed another 'veteran' who is not in the game. Reds pitcher Eric Milton (certainly not complaining about it though )

Anyways, hope it works great for everyone else!
