Which is why I said in my original post it looked like to me he just lost steam towards the end of the race.

Yeah, and I'm not allowed to speculate without being called dumb. I didn't CLAIM he threw the silver - note the question mark in my post header - or do you have trouble reading? I said that's the impression ("LOOKS TO ME LIKE") I got from watching the race and there are a couple others here who thought so as well, so I guess they are also dumb too.

I'm an idiot (or so says some guy named Boozie, and given his name we should expect nothing less than top class posts from him) for telling someone to screw off. Yeah, and none of you here have ever done that either right? You're all a bunch of perfect angels who never give anybody the finger when they cut you off on the freeway, and of course you've never blocked somebody from pulling into your lane in a traffic jam either. Give me a break.

Anybody else care to jump on the bandwagon? It's getting awfully crowded...

I wonder, with all the money some athletes get from their countries for winning medals (I heard some country awards 300K$US for a gold) whether or not a small group of athletes might ever get together and arrange for the player that would get the most money to end up winning and then split the proceeds between themselves somehow. I'm not at all suggesting that happened here, but you've got to imagine that if athletes have been willing in the past to risk both their integrity and their lives by taking illegal drugs just to win whether they'd be willing to just to trade their integrity for a nice big payoff.

Does anyone remember the race in which Suzy Favor-Hamilton (1500m) "fell" near the end of in the last summer games? To me, it almost seemed as if she decided to quit and fall once the eventual gold, silver and bronze medallists blew by her in the last 50m. Perhaps I read too much into what I thought I saw.

No see, I said it's dumb to make a claim that he gave up intentionally. That's not the same thing as calling you dumb. So you're the one that needs to learn how to read, but nice try.

You're not an idiot for telling me to screw off. You're an idiot because instead of having a respectable comeback or continuing the discussion in a civilized manner when all I did was offer my opinion you had to resort to throwing insults around. That's what makes you an idiot. But you go ahead and think whatever you want.

And since you've brought it up, no I never have flipped anyone off on the freeway for cutting me off and I don't block anyone from cutting into my lane in a traffic jam. So I guess that does make me a perfect angel.

Hehe...you're right - I tried to slip that one in...at least somebody's on the ball.

I apologize to you for what I said. It was out of line.
