Wow, I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I think it could be very, very good for the future of OOTP (especially for those who want in-game graphics, even if it may only be 2D ).

Congrats, Markus and the rest of the OOTPD Team.

AHAA!

I remember browsing the forums here a few months ago and I remember reading something about OOTP7 having 2D graphics. Hmm, I wonder if this is where the idea came from.

Edit: Congrats for your hard work.

Wow. That blows my mind. Wow. I hope you're not biting off more than you can chew, Markus my man, but combining the two best games in the history of sports games into one company only sort of makes sense.

Add another hoping this will stay our forum, though.

Would someone tell us if these boards will remain our boards or what?

Those boards will remain, and stay the way they are since OOTP 6 is an OOTP Dev product. Once we close in toward the next release (End of 2005), we'll have to reevalute the situation So, plenty of time to relax for now...

So what is OOTP7's release date? Is it out yet? How about now?

Congratualtions, Markus! If nothing else, association with highly respected names like EHM and FM will bring a bunch of new fans, in a similar way to how many (such as myself) found OOTP through the Season Ticket Baseball releases.

End of 2005 is an interesting choice of time. I've like how OOTP5 and 6 were released around the start of baseball season.

Thanks for the clarification on the boards.

I used to post my CM questions on the SI boards and found them to be a very unfriendly place. Heaven help you if you are a noob and asking politely about how to play the game.

I guess all of this is good for OOTP. But I have an automatic irrational knee-jerk negative reaction to corporate reshufflings, reorganizations and mergers of any kind. Personal experience of getting laid off and the massive dislocation it causes.

I will never be comfortable with companies "joining" other companies or being acquired or whatever.

Anyway, good luck to the OOTP crew.

That's what I first thought, then I also realized why Doug asked me that odd question in my FtB thread.

I always figured OOTP would swallow up SI Games.

They can be unfortunately - the si boards have a huge amount of users (around 40,000 frequent users) and because a lot of them have played the game for years their patience isn't always what I would like (although we do try and guide the 'chaos').

For this reason I tend to knock around a lot of messageboards (including this one) and answer any questions regarding our games that I come across ...
