I wonder.. If you bumped it up to early September, that just might be the second best (to opening day), or maybe even the best, release time for you guys. Personally, my baseball fever doesn't quite peak until the last month of the regular season and into the playoffs and I imagine that is the same for many other baseball fans. Sure, there's a spike at the start of spring training and opening day, but I wouldn't be surprised if the height of baseball interest is the last month and the playoffs. And when you're most interested in something you like to get more of it and you find other ways to get it, like buying a game on it. I know I got OOTP4 late in the 2002 season myself just because I couldn't get enough baseball. Sure, you want to hit the christmas buying season for most games, but I'm not so sure that would be the best time for a baseball game release as many people are on holidays from baseball and fully into (American) football. And this way, if you miss early September you could still probably hit the play-offs in October and if not, then you can take your time to hit Christmas. I'm sure you guys are quite experienced at this already so I hope I'm not coming off as presumptuous, but I thought I'd point it out just in case it hadn't crossed your minds yet. Plus, the OOTPers would love the slightly earlier release.

We don't have a 'fixed' date in mind currently, the rough time scale that we've indicated is what I believe is a reliable estimate at this point in time - the most important thing imho is that its the best game possible, simple as that ....

I guess I'd be happier if I could set up an account on their boards.

I registered, clicked the email, but still cannot post. Two emails to the link in the error message resulted in two form emails from a Kris Dorey, and an email to Marc Duffy sent through these boards resulted in.... nothing. All since Wednesday, when the announcement broke.

I've gone from being very excited and impressed with the SI boys, to frustrated and a little discouraged about the recent move.

At any rate, I would regard any emails sent to registrations@pro-coding.com as lost and would not expect a response. As for sending an email to Marc, well, it could be email aren't reliable when sent through these forums, or it could be that Marc is a very busy man.

At least I can still browse the SI forums.
