There is a program/utility someone made (sorry to forget, but it is a GREAT thing.. thank you!!)called toggle_mm ... It lets you turn of manager mode so you can do some editing ..etc...

Also, you could also just make a backup of your league... open it up and retire.. that is what I did with the one that works.

There is a utility to disable manager mode. Here is a thread about it.

I'm glad you could get your issue figured out, now if only the mad, drinking, German, programming robot (aka Markus) can see this thread for a bug fix.

That's not a bad idea. I just backed up my ootp5 league. If that is the fix then that's not that bad for now.

Thanks for reminding me about that little prog, I think I used it to tweek my league WAY back and totally forgot about it.

Was this with Manager Mode on then turned off in mid-season? Could you import a league in mid-season that hadn't started with MM on at all?

Okay.. I created a standard league w/o mm and went to mid june (which my solo league is at) and it work through two games in ITP.. so I would say yes regular mid season imports work fine if you don't have manager mode

OK.. here it is....

You MAY load in preseason (or at least prior to ammy draft)
You MAY load in mid-season
I ASSUME you may load in the post season
You MAY load with a human manager

And the biggest damn problem
You MAY NOT load with manager mode on
You MAY NOT!!! disable manager mode w/utility You MUST retire!!!
hint.... make a copy of your league sans almanac.. and use that to retire and make your ITP league.

Recommendation... For those of you importing a historical league.. Import you league in the pre season before the ammy draft.. That way your created player will be in the draft with the real rookies (if you use real rookies... be a odd historical league if you didn't).

I think thats about it.. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.. and if there is anything I didn't mention and would like to know just ask... I'll do my best to answer it. And if I can't.. oh well.. that is why we have Markus... hehe

Yeah, retiring the manager worked like a charm.

Just got promoted to AA. Time to get ready for tonight. Take care, guys.

Did everyone who had/has the problem use the same name in both MM and ITP? ie if my MM name is the same as my ITP name could that cause issues? Anyone think this might be an issue because the same name cannot exist twice.

And can I retire from MM start my ITP league and then immediately put the backed up league back into my OOTP.lg?

Name in MM doesn't matter. You just can not have MM on AT ALL...

As far as the second question, Why would you want to put your backup league back into your ootp.lg? Just Create a new fold called "back up.lg" for example. Open up your real leagues folder and highlight everything but the almanac(just to save time), right click and pick copy and then past it in the back up.lg folder.

Open up OOTP5, open the back up.lg game .. retire in MM ... close the game..

Open up ITP create your player, import your league... the patch would be something like c:\program files\400 software studios\ootp5\back up.lg or close to it and your set!

After your ITP is up and running and you don't see any problems just go and delete the back up.lg folder. Unless ofcourse you want to keep that time of your league for all your ITP needs .. in that case keep it.

I hope all this made sense.. I'm going on about 30 hours straight ( for no good reason to that.. well ITP had a part of it). And I hope all that helps.

I wanted to know if I could resume my MM after retired -> started an ITP league -> put backed up files back into OOTP.lg.

As far as I understand it you should be able to continue your MM league after the import. ITP at this point (as I understand it) doesn't send information back to OOTP so once it is imported to ITP it shouldn't need your OOTP league file any longer.
