Noticed some prospects starting as free agents, specifically Henry Lalane, Luis Serna, Sabier Marte, Ocean Gabonia, Justin Lange from Yankees, Gerardo Salas from Cardinals, Aidan Curry from Rangers, Diego Cartaya from Giants. Others too.

They are set correctly in the db, but there seems to be some sort of import bug in these cases. We'll look into this.

EDIT: Still a bug for the other guys mentioned, but Lange at least was actually released by the Yankees in reality. Nerfed his ratings to reflect that.

Tried a 2025 Offseason Start MLB Career. No player data base at all, any level and all teams. Advanced several days, and no players appeared.

Deleted and tried again. Same result, but after 5 days my Front Office signed a scouting discovery to the International Complex, and looking at transaction log several organizations now have a player in the international complex.

He doesn't have an official facegen, so this is likely either a randomly generated one or a mod.

INF Matt Shaw will be used as a super-sub in 2026 and has also played all three OF positions during spring training.

OF Joan Delgado (7 Dec 2004) listed as FA but still with Cubs.

Not home so can’t check in game but all of these guys are on the Cubs in our database. So either it is an import error of our database or the game has moved ahead a day and released them. I will get the position updates done later tonight unless Lukas beats me to it.

I ran a start from the beginning of the off-season in a Standard game as the Yankees and it appears there are 0 players in the league.

I've noticed in several of my 2026 saves that Casey Schmitt of the Giants will rack up about 30 or so innings pitched every season to horrible results. After turning off scouting, it appears that his pitching ratings vastly outweigh most other position players which tricks the AI into deploying him as a two-way guy, and given that he hasn't pitched since being in college, I would assume this is a mistake.

Perfect place for it!

Injuries are always a best guess, but based on our experience over doing this thousands of times during the course of many years, is that the published estimates are almost always way too optimistic. Also, if f.e. you load the WBC, then the game starts like March 1st.

We can take a look at Holliday again and maybe adjust if it seems called for though.

EDIT: Cut it down to 35 days.

A lot of the historical draft positions are not updated. We'll do a mass import of these at some point across the db, but it's not a super high priority thing.

Idk. This is a tricky one. It's weird the AI would actually use him, his ratings aren't really good enough for that...

He seems absolutely like the sort of guy who might convert to pitching sometime and I would hate to take that possibility away from him in-game.

Will have to think this over a little.

EDIT: I dropped his pBABIP quite a lot, but kept the other ratings the same. Maybe that will help?

I've run about five sims so far, and Dylan Moore has averaged between 25-35 homers and around a 120 OPS+ for the Phillies. He's a decent player, but he's way too good in the simulation. Keston Hiura is another guy who is overachieving, in my opinion.

He's hit well in AAA basically since his rookie year, but he's really struggled in the majors since that season.

Good catch!

Both of their power was way too high (and Hiura's babip as well).

Some sort of import bug I imagine. We try to tone down those issues we catch, but some can slip though.
