Just out of curiosity, when Altuve went 0 for a month in the OP sim, was the “Beat drums to tip pitches” box unchecked? How about the “wear buzzer under uniform”? It’s harder to hit when you don’t know what’s coming.

Whoops, just saw EC’s wise advice in the post above, after i sent my post.

It is definitely true that Altuve cheated - and was not punished.

But it is probably unkind to bring it up, now going on four years later.

To me, it is necessary, though not particularly on point, to remind folks that he and others cheated, in the true sense of the word. And not in the legitimate baseball sense of stealing signs that were there to be read by a clever opponent. Some will rightly say this is now “beating a dead horse”; but the horse is still alive and well and again a champion (presumably with some legitimacy, this time); whereas Joe Jackson and Pete Rose are still punished for lesser sins by a league that now shamelessly promotes sports betting.

I guess the point is, I haven’t helped the OP one bit. Sorry about that.

At least when I played some games to check it out last spring... maybe they have fixed the problem with patches during the year.

I will not convert my league to OOTP23 until I finish the current season.
I did just see it in a game today but I think this comes with fictional stadia where an element of the wall isn’t being properly “drawn”. If I see it again I’ll try and post that to the 3D bugs thread but I’m not sure there’s going to be much the devs can do. I guess we’ll see.

I’ve also “seen” the runner out by interference play a couple of times and that’s just not in the 3D animations yet. The ball just goes foul, the runners take their places where appropriate, and you need to read the PBP to see what happened. That one in particular is a weird one because it’s just about the only play like that I think that’s left (aside, from plays that result in injuries, I guess; you can see a batter get hit in the shin by a pitch and then leave with a concussion - I don’t count that because I don’t think, at the base, the injuries are linked to the play except by the play type, and I’m not sure the game engine itself “knows” what part of the body gets hurt (the development part of the engine does of course)).

If a fictional stadium does not have their fences set correctly, there's nothing we can do about that. When creating a park, you have to set using some special variables where the fences are and we use those for collision detection, not where the graphics show up. Other than maybe some very weird bounces off a side wall at just the right angle, there should not be any issues in the default parks. If you notice an issue in a modded park, be sure to notify the creator of the park.

All of the stadiums that I create, I am meticulous about making sure the fence grid is not colliding with, or behind the actual fence in the model and I still see players running behind the wall (mostly in the corners). if there is something I am missing, I would love to know

I tried to move the fences back in the old Baker Bowl, in right and right-center. Changed the distances by about thirty feet down the line, and modified the huge high wall. Tried to duplicate these changes by editing the 3D model, but I must have botched something. Now balls and the RF routinely disappear behind the wall to catch or retrieve hit balls. So the outcomes are what i wanted, for a larger field (e.g. fewer HR to RF). But I messed up the graphics part. My model shows the deeper fences, but the original short fence location is visible on the 3D model when I try to edit them out. Any guidance on how to “erase” the old positions, and move the fence posts to the new ones?

The fence grid should generally be in front of the model, but we might be talking about things differently. Let me know which parks you see it in most and we can dig around some more for sure.

Jarry Parc and Cleveland Municipal Stadium are two silvam stadiums I’ve seen this happen in.

I use the default minor league stadium.... not a modded park.

Only the right fielder runs through walls... none of the other outfielders... it doesn't happen too often... maybe once or so a game.

By Position Drop Down under Fielding Tab

Any chance we can / could get a career position drop down?

I believe it would be easier to see a players improvement/decline if we could filter out the other positions that were probably played in an emergency basis.
