If you've never used these GIMP tools, you might want to check them out. They were a game changer for me when it came to creating circular text. https://gimp-tools.sourceforge.net/

They require a bit of understanding of GIMP but once you figure it out they are fantastic. *I've been using Adobe Illustrator more recently so I'm not up-to-date on GIMP so I'm not totally sure if these tools work with the newer versions of GIMP.

So sorry if this was unsolicited advice, I just read back over it and thought a real jerk must have written that. Enjoy your learning, have fun, and keep up the good work!

Oh no problem at all, I have certainly been following your advice to just do stuff, and post it, and maybe go back and fix it when I know how
also I have been playing this game for so long, these stupid logos are certainly adding to my enjoyment of it.

I think its easy to get hung up trying to make something perfect, but to do that you need to learn new things. I've had fun lately going back and updating things but still using some elements of the earlier logo.

Adding your own graphics really adds such a cool element to the games, you are so right!

If I can ever help just let me know!

I deleted this one due to reasons

formerly a bad joke regarding a [South African] team

Last edited by 20_range; 01-18-2023 at 09:10 PM. Reason: it was extremely stupid anyway

You would be surprised at how many versions of this I made, including one that is just hurricanekevin's logo, but worse

these are better. It's a baseball team composed of nine sloths.

If anyone has a better idea about how to graphically express the idea of nine-sloth baseball in 300x300 form lmk

Thanks for the link, HK! I'm adding those scripts to my arsenal.

Two other low cost options that are nice supplements are Procreate for your tablet ($10 one time purchase) and Clip Studio Pro for your PC ($49 one time purchase, but sometimes on sale for $29). Both are powerful assets, and each has features that are them worth having. CSP is far more robust, but subscription based on mobile devices.

No problem Ty! I'm all about making the process of learning how to do this easier for all of us! I've got Procreate on my Ipad and do start with some sketches there. I asked for a drawing pad for my computer to use with Adobe for Christmas so I'm hoping that will help me step up my original artwork. Since I'm taking design classes at the local community college Adobe is actually free for me now.

20 I had this idea for you, but I stopped when it started looking like a rotary telephone.

More San Jose Nueve

Ok, so in this timeline, the team was founded in the mid 20th century, sponsored by a telephone company

Puerto Cabezas Capitanes

trying to learn some new things*, and also resurrect a former country in present-day Nicaragua. There will also be a team in the capital, Bluefields: in real life, baseball first became popular in Atlantic Nicaragua before spreading to the more populous regions.

Tegucigalpa-Comayagüela Gemelas

Mostly again I am trying to learn more specific tasks. I wanted to put a team in the capital of Honduras, and it turns out to be two sister cities. So it became a minor league team of Minnesota . Obviously the T-C logo has always stood for Tegucigalpa-Comayagüela. The colors are from the extremely lavish flag, I also thought about cutting out that angel and putting it on the top. There's a version with and without the silhouette of the country. I wanted it to look like worldle, but it also looks like a paint blob.

San Diego Zebras

Do you ever just get tired of the Padres? I usually rebrand several of the existing MLB teams, and expand, but I never had a good idea for them.

In this timeline, the team is named thematically to go with the San Diego Zoo, instead of being named after the old PCL team. The Z's fit in a league that features the Detroit Tigers and Oakland A's. I kept the color scheme, and tried to make a 1969 font version and a 70s/80s version that mimics the font the Padres used around that time.

zebra is from this German soccer team's amazing logo. I will probably try to make a 90s version with a circular logo, and maybe a fauxback version

San Diego Zebras mid 20th century

And here is your San Diego Zebras mid-20th century or fauxback version. Also can be used for a generic Zebras team.

I am seeing some tiny imperfect areas here on the message board in the outlining. I have been using gimp's alpha-to-selection, then border, then fill. Those don't show up at the smaller resolutions in the game. They also don't really show up in gimp. I'm not sure how to fix them. I think they are individual pixels that are staying transparent for some reason where the two areas merge.
If there are ideas how to fix this? (The other thread has some ideas, mainly "use a different program")

Washington D.C. Leviathans

I also got tired of the generic name Nationals. Colors are from their alternate cherry blossom city connect logo. I didn't get anywhere near this outrageous piece of art, but I think the team name works. Several versions:
