I DON'T NEED STUPID TUTORIALS but seriously this is probably a must-have at this point. I've been playing so long that I'm pretty familiar with everything (I think) but this game has gotten soooooo complicated that sometimes when I'm trying to help a player through something I realize, "wow, this is pretty arcane".

Anyway pre-ordered IN SPITE OF MY LACK OF NEED GUYS PLS FIX THE FUN FACTOR

I found myself thinking, well, this isn't exactly an exciting new feature for a veteran OOTP'er when I listened to the podcast.
But I also agree that it is absolutely needed and a wonderful feature for new gamers and those struggling to learn the game.
And, the more I think about it, I'm pretty sure I might find that it has more value for me than I currently imagine. I know that I often watch OOTP tutorials on YouTube (both the official Alex Murray/OOTP produced ones and those from other OOTP'ers not officially associated with the development team) and there is usually some little tidbit that I hadn't given much thought to up until then- or even more often something that I knew but have been neglecting due to all of the moving parts and options in the game and which I now find myself rethinking and am glad to have brought once again to my attention.

Plus, I'm sure there will be other new features/improved current features that will be in 23 that will speak more directly to me.

On second thought, I'll take a tutorial on all and everything AI. I want multiple A Developer's Guide to Strategy's threads that go into detail all aspects of AI in this game
I want to know how the AI thinks of all Transactions, how it decides who to promote or not. I want a deep dive into everything the AI does in this game.

Even for me, at some point every year I find something new in the game that's been there for a while but I never even knew was there. So I suspect even a lot of us who are OOTP grognards will get more out of the tutorials than we'd ever expect

Agreed!

Edit: that was supposed to be directed towards Lukas but somehow I managed to not use the quote feature. Because, you know, even when you have posted more than 3,900 times in this forum, you can forget what you are doing and a helpful reminder- oh, I don't know, maybe something like a built in tutorial system- can be a godsend.

Pre ordered can't wait to see whats new this year, I've only been playing this game since 2008 when i saw it sitting on a Best Buy shelf and decided to take a chance on it, played a version of Old Time Baseball that we moded before this I changed the ..exe file and had Curt Gowdy announing all my players from the sixties that i made a custom league of edited the players photos too..I edited the play by play with Curt doing this too. this was a lot of work now OOTP does it for me, except I miss the play by play and players being announced by Curt.. Anyway Thanks for another year of this great game, Wish you did Football and Basketball as well

Believe it or not, this is my first pre-order, since OOTP18. I've had every version since OOTPX, but haven't pre-ordered in five years. PSYCHED!!!

Sooo... it won't be out before the start of the season?

I'll always get it and this year was obviously complicated, but I really wish it was out before the season begins.

While it would be nice, this year is unique so I don't mind. Actually, MLB just announced roster size will increase from 26 to 28 from April 7 to May 1 this year. No roster limit on pitchers until May 2 when it drops to 13 max.
Also, the automatic runner on second base in extra innings will be implemented during the 2022 regular season (only).

Also, the "Ohtani rule" - pitchers can remain in the game as DH after being pulled from the mound.

So there are plenty of last minute league changes that the OOTP team needs to see about implementing in the game before release. Not to mention the rosters should be more up-to-date, so I am fine with it.
