Improved coaching and 3D graphics are both things that have been requested a lot on these boards. Still plenty of time left before release, seems like there will be more changes announced the next few weeks.

The improved coaching system sounds great. I'm a little worried that the specialists have a chance to be really brokenly good but I trust the team to balance them correctly. It might just take a few patches.

Yup, I was sad to hear as well.

That said, I'm glad we have KBO, (makes sense with the new ownership). Hopefully it leads to the *** next.

Also, does the KBO license mean historical seasons for the KBO? Or just official logos, face gen, jerseys, etc? I'm figuring the latter, but the former will be nice!

I was pretty impressed by the line-up in the email announcement.

And the improvements in the in-game experience (playing-out games) seems to be in response to what appears both on these boards, and other places to be a growing request for refinements.

I am here mostly for the simulation, as most of us are, but I agree the in-game experience is an area that needs some real work at this point and in the next few versions.

The stadiums look great! And they added KBO stadiums as well with these upgrades. I hope the player models get some work, but from what I can tell, they appear mostly the same; however, I'm rather sure there has been work on the animations.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to OOTP22.

Looking good The list as revealed so far sounds great.

I have a question on the new coaching system and how\when it will affect an imported game. I've imported my game every year, many times with the season in progress, without issue.

I'm wondering how the new coaching system will be handled if we import a season in progress?

Will teams immediately hire base coaches and whatever other coaches that have been added?

Will this be disabled until the start of the first full v22 season?

If one chose to could they play without the new coaches and simply use the current system? This is what I might do, if allowed, while finishing my current season and, then move into the new system in the offseason.

Thanks

I agree with most everyone else - personnel/coaching was definitely one of the areas in need of improvement and the new ballparks look great.

The new coaching system improvements sound great, but will we still have current MLB PoBO (President of Baseball Ops) guys sitting in the available personnel pool? Guys like Dombrowski, Billy Beane, etc.

The coaching system sounds great hope I can use it with my import. But does this also affect AI managing? All the AI managers in my league manage the same. I play out each game.

Was looking to switch to OOTP this year, finally ditching Perfect Inning on Mobile due to the terrible customer service, lack of updates that have anything to do with gameplay and 100% Pay2Win. Came over here, created an account, anxiously awaited the trailer and what is the first thing I see? Com2Us. Noooooooo!!!!

Oh well, game looks cool and my visit here may be the shortest in history. I hope those of you that enjoy OOTP continue to do so. I’ll just warn you from my experiences with Com2Us....don’t get mad if you ask for improvements or features in the game and they ignore you and only focus on adding things you can buy. That’s their MO and sadly they are far worse than EA. So, if you don’t like EA, get ready. Sorry to be “Debbie Downer”, just really bummed to see Com2Us after hearing so many great things about OOTP.

Never heard of com2us before you mentioned it. Looks like they are a mobile publisher though. This game is not the mobile game they are releasing later. You could be right about them as I have no experience with them but I think you may be talking about a different game then what was in the trailer.

basically what I expected from the chatter during this winter. Perfect Team seems to be the big focus now with the "core game" getting only secondary attention...stadiums and graphics and tabs all look decent, coaching is the one thing I am pleasantly surprised about. teaching/development could be a great addition but with how similar features have sort of fizzled recently I'm a bit hesitant to jump all in on buying that it's a big leap forward

doesn't look anything like a new game really

The trailer was PERFECT. It did everything a teaser trailer was designed to do: show you a little bit, but leave you wanting more. The best is yet to come.

If you were only looking for Perfect Team than you may be right. I don't know I've never played it and never will. Pay to play, online, not for me. Strictly a single game player and like it that way. FWIW PT is free to play though, I expect to win you have to go pay. Not sure going to com2us is going to change anything there.

If you're looking at OOTP for solo play or online for that matter it's a totally different animal. Old school computer baseball game NO dlc for this game. It's all in the box and Markus and team are, so far, still running the show. Could that change? Sure but not for this version. Will have to wait and see if the new masters turn to selling historical seasons or anything else in the future. Hopefully not but could well go that way like Strat O Matics model, IE include the newest season and charge for the rest.

That's really getting the cart before the horse and there will, I expect, be speculation all the way up to the release of v23 a year from now. At that time we will get a better look at how this will all shake out. Until then I will enjoy v22 and only cross future bridges in the future.

New features

Big fan of the new coaching and strategy features, I was wondering if there was anything else new such as a different bullpen role, spin rates for pitches, etc.
