The patch changes are not retroactive, so you shouldn't have to restart in order to use it.

"I am (X) years into a historical league. Loading this patch wont hurt my league will it?"
Those are my same thoughts as well.

Markus,
Have some of the restrictions of editing general settings while in manager mode been removed? For instance started a league with manager mode and a found out while my league was in June that the two chicago teams had their stadiums switched and couldn't change them back to normal because manager mode wouldn't allow these changes. Thanks for all your hard work. Last edited by SunDevil; 04-14-2003 at 11:31 AM. |

"game now allows you to import after 2002 from the lahman db"
i was curious about this one. does this just mean you can import individual players from the database after 2002? or does it mean that the game still asks you if you want to import real rookies every year from 2003 and beyond? in old versions of ootp, once you got past the last year of the database the computer automatically generated rookies. i just want to make sure this is still the case, or if i'll have to answer no every time to import real rookies. thanks for the patch. it seems like it clears up any issues i had. |

Markus,
Has the ability to edit text without it first being deleted been fixed? For instance, I want to change John Doe's information. If I try to change his name, birthday, or fielding percentage or any of the information that includes a line of text, when trying to edit or change this information the current text is automatically deleted and I have to put in the whole line in again with the changes instead of having the ability to change an individual character or being able to add any new text onto the existing information. Thanks again for the new patch. |

9 things I would like explained
Markus: I am not asking for specific formulas or ways to cheat the system. I would just like an explanation that would/should be included in the manual that gives the user of this game an understanding of the fundamentals of these nine topics. Thanks. 1. Team Market: - Does it increase or decrease over the years? From Manual: "Both Team Market and Fan Loyalty are variable, and can change on a yearly basis." - What are the conditions/causes? 2. Fan Loyalty - What are the conditions/causes for this to increase/decrease? 3. How is Merchandising Revenue calculated? 4. Manager Mode: - What role does team Chemistry play? - What increases/decreases team chemistry? - How much of a benefit is from the manager's basic skills? - What benefits are from the manager's special abilities? - Is there a specific range in the Owner's mood to get fired? |

Thank you so much. I've never seen any software updated so quickly, even from large software companies. You are really making me consider abandoning Strat-o-Matic. Enjoy a well deserved vacation!!!

Now, with a password in the online league, if you go in the trade screen and just enter no password, you will have an invalid password message.
But I'm still able to select teams and make offer and look like the computer can take any players in trade for a good player (like Pedro Martinez) But I did not hit the complete trade button, I will make more test tonite. Why not testing it right now. Did it and made the trade. Something wrong. Edited: One thing that I did not try: Maybe my salary cap is too low (60M) Edited: Sorry guys I make a rookie error, I put the AI team in the Offering team. My mistake.

awesome..can't wait to continue playing after my classes today...
btw, at a quick glance I noticed in the player report arbitration 'guesses' are sometimes below the minimum league salary. (mine is set at $300,000 K. Wunsch MR $450,000 2005 1 years left Arbitration (Estimate: $210,000)

Thank you Markus, especially for "-GM's should now be able to see the FA contract extension request, even with a commish password set."
