I had luck early as some of you have. After those initial lucky packs the well went dry. So my suggestion is get ten packs. If you get lucky great and if not stop cold turkey. I pulled 2 Sales, a Verlander, Historical Peak SS Davis and the un-peak peak Clemente where the wrong year was used and it for sure wasn't his peak. So those draws came fast and several car payments and no gas money later, no more good cards. However there is hope. There are always people with endless cash streams willing to spend umpteen thousands of dollars for the rest of us while they maintain their addiction

I have 2 gold and 4 silver on my roster. I'm up 3-2 in my bronze sub-league series after winning my division. My opponent has 5 gold on on his roster. You can be competitive at the lower levels without the super cards. Once you get to perfect league though - forget it .

Trying to go slow with 20, because I went fast with 19 and hit the point where I needed perfects to improve my roster. That turned into weeks and weeks of no progress. Trying a different strategy this season and enjoying the journey.

Yea I get ya. I did great with players from 82 to 100 rating (4 of those) and am getting ready for WC game 1. My only point was that don't get sucked into the gambling. For me it was cheaper just to go to the AH

It's truly a crap-shoot. Some win - some loose. Someone here (Orcin?) did a 100 pack trial run, and the advertised odds were almost right-on; so this is really no different than going to a casino.

Once you reach a point with your team that you can't earn enough APs to significantly make a difference to your team, the card packs are the only way you might get that lucky day at the casino.

Not one single 100 card!!!!

I wish there was a pack counter and card breakdown history so we could share the exact data. But all that would only prove their drop rates are way off and a total lie.

Done with this game!
same problem here....opened almost 800 packs in 19 perfect team no perfect cards and just over half the diamonds I should have got,and now in 20 already off to the same bull, only opened between 100-150 in perfect team 20 but with the two combined its close to 1000 packs with zero perfects and only half the diamonds. Its very frustrating that these stated pack odds are not even close to what is stated in the game

You guys complaining need to understand statistics. Just because the odds are as stated, doesn't mean YOU will always see these odds over your PT life.

The overall pulls by ALL players combined in the total PT world will settle around these odds, but even then I don't expect it to be perfect as it would be too manufactured. There will be short term deviation from the mean (odds) at the overall PT world level, and by comparison, significant deviation from the mean at the individual player level. For every 'lucky player' there must be an 'unlucky player' for everything to level out. The odds have never been stated as 'the odds each player will get from their packs' - these are just odds at the overall game level.

Think of it like real sports, just because your team is an odds on favourite to win every game of the season, doesn't mean they will win every game of the season. Some seasons they might, but most seasons they won't.

I too had terrible luck but in back-to-back bronze packs, I just pulled a 96 Bob Gibson which absolutely made my night (easily my best draw ever) until on the very next pack I pulled a 98 Max Scherzer! Guess my team is finally going to pitch a little bit!!!

But seriously, I had been quite frustrated with the drop rates and all the amazing cards people seem to pull and I had never pulled anything higher than an 86 between OOTP 19 and this one until tonight. Drop rates may be rough, but it makes it all that more exciting when something awesome happens.

13 standard packs purchased in OOTP 20 (all with earned PP). 5 diamonds. 3 golds. I've been lucky so far. I doubt it lasts. And it still wasn't good enough to do any damage in my Iron League playoffs.

Put me on the side of the "no luck" guys - not counting starter packs I've only opened around 15 packs but the best I've gotten from those is an 83OVR Simmons, a 77OVR Jermaine Dye and a 74OVR whose name has slipped my mind.

I'm one of the guys making the odds even out (by absorbing all the rotten cards). So all you guys getting multitudes of perfects and diamonds, you're welcome!

Soooo...

You have opened 15 packs (90 cards). Take out the 15 guaranteed bronzes and you have pulled 75 cards.

Out of those 75 you pulled 1 Gold (1:50 published odds) and 2 Silvers (1:20 published odds). So yeah, you are a little behind, but not terribly so, and you need to open another 15 packs minimum before you can get frustrated about not getting a diamond (1:150 published odds).

You are not unlucky, you just haven't opened barely anything in the scheme of things. Keep ripping packs and your time will come. It is too early in your pack ripping to be calling yourself a "no luck" guy.

I'm just joking around, I realize there are people who have opened hundreds of packs and not gotten much in the way of upper tier cards. That's certainly not me. I have no complaints except that I'm not the guy who can report opening 5 packs and getting 3 diamonds!

Seeing those posts makes me see red with jealousy. I know I have pulled my fair share of nice cards, but when the same guy pulls both Perfect Big Train AND Perfect Honus, let alone the 3 diamonds in 5 packs stuff, it does get you down.

But hey, Perfect Pedro is only 1 pack away, right? Right??

The highest rated card I own among my 3 teams is a 90OVR Realmuto. I will settle for something higher than a 90.

What's considered the worst diamond card (relatively speaking)? I'm sure that's the one I'll get!

I don't know if he is considered the worst Diamond, but Trevor Story is pretty crappy, and I have packed him 5 times. It is at the point where I am terrified to see a diamond cuz I expect it to be another Trevor F'n Story. Ugh. You can do worse than Realmuto, not a stud in any area, but above average in all areas. Plus, he's hitting in a little league park now, so I expect his hitting ratings to improve.

No offense to Trevor, but if that isn't his nickname in OOTP it should be.

It is probably the Live Diamond that gets downgraded to Gold shortly after you open it.

I had been very lucky, but today I opened 10 packs and didn't get a single card better than bronze.

Then I opened 6 more and got like 10 silvers and a gold. And also 3 Sandy Leons in a row. Which was really weird.
