I'm definitely not going to keep up with 3, especially with tournaments you can probably get by with 1 team and just build the roster out for different styles of tournament

My guess is I'll just run one team, although may have a 2nd team around to literally just accrue points and thus be ready to rip packs for me once a week when I'm bored.

One, and only one, ever.

I was thinking the same with the tournaments. Cards may be a little tougher to come by because people might hold cards they normally wouldn't. The live cards will be like playing the stock market.

I'll probably start with 3 and stick with the one I end up liking the most.

Yeah I'm wondering if the AH is going to be almost barren to start out with because of the collecting and the tournaments.

I'll carry my pre-ww2 theme team over to v20.... might do a second team with a different theme as well (not sure what that will be yet); though the pack-only / no AH aspect of my other team does make it rather easy to handle (either I pull a better card than I have on the roster and swap them in/out; or I don't... not much else to do there)

I was thinking this too. I have seen a few people say sell early and buy later cheaper, but it may be hard to get those cards back. Maybe with more teams playing it will even out.

I'd guess there will be a sizable about of double-pulls going on, so might at least see those cards out for sale (unless there's a lot of hoarding in the hopes that 'live' card will increase during the year and fetch a better price later)

Teams may keep multiples for tournaments. I think I read you can compete in up to 3 tournaments at the same time. Teams may keep 4 of a player to account for this. It will be interesting to see how things play out. Also, do you really want to sell an 89 Corbin when 1 additional overall point quadruples his quick sell value.

I might try having 2 teams this time (I only have 1 now), but I might stick to 1 again.

I think I'll try for 3 teams because honestly it isn't much more work, outside of logging in three times. If you spend the time to set up your AI right you can still have the team play the way you want on the whole, and just like mistresses, 3 is better than... oh wait, I say too much... disregard...

A rare sight is my Clippers playing better than .600 this "late" in the year. And that's in spite of the fact that 3 of my hitters (including 2 of the better ones) are not even hitting their weight yet. But the pitching and defense are doing better than they have in a few seasons.

Two teams might be fun to play around with different strategies or do a theme team,

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. One team will be like my current Clippers team (but hopefully built better from the start now that I sort of know what I'm doing), but the other team... Well, I've got different ideas. Not sure which I'll try with it yet.

I thought I read that you can set up different active rosters for the tournaments from your cards. It didn't sound like you need multiples.

i.e. Your Bronze left handed hitter can be in a Bronze tournament and a lefty tournament at the same time

Yes, I thought a second team with a theme would be fun. It turns out that I am not really that interested in it.

I'll probably run 3 again. One account I actually spend time on and then two theme teams. If your theme is fairly restrictive it'll quickly become a waiting game saving up PP for the missing diamond cards - which then doesn't require much weekly maintenance.

Plus if you get bored you can always rip packs on the themed teams while trying to save up on the main one.

I currently have a "Michael" themed team and starting to move towards a defensive or OBP team for the second.

In 20, I'll probably do the Michael theme again and maybe an all Padres. Then of course the standard just compete team.

I wish that my request was pinned somewhere. The ability to use one account to create 3 teams, with a pulldown option to pick which team you want to manage. I'm sick of logging in and out of the game 100 times a day. It takes like 12 steps for me to do it each time.

Is it an assumption that you have to use different cards for multiple tournaments or has that been stated? I just asked over in the OOTP 20 PT forum.
