Release them now (like, right this very second !)
As much as I follow baseball and am very much a baseball freak, I really wouldn't have any idea if the contract lengths were the correct length or not |

I say put the contracts in and then release. It's not the monetary value that's important, it's the length of the deal. I don't like seeing players who are tied up in long term deals (Griffey and Rodriguez as two examples) becoming free agents in like 2 or 3 years. Besides, will it hurt if we have to wait a couple more days for these? I mean, we've been waiting over week, so what's two more days?
But that's just my opinion, I'll download the roster file regardless since in my opinion, going back to your total minors set for HH2002, that you are the BEST at making roster files. Keep up the good work. Last edited by bigjas; 03-16-2003 at 05:49 PM. |

Alright! I can wait till Monday or Tuesday for contracts. See, we can get the best of both worlds. The people who want them now can get them now, while the people who want their contracts only have to wait a couple of days.

As for how many prospects, this set doesn't add too many guys. It is basically an MLB player ratings fix with additions of 40-man roster guys left out of the beta set. There were some ratings adjustments to minor leaguers (though I've concluded the top 100 prospects list is just frustrating, because guys are on there who are not rated anywhere near guys who aren't on there...Adam Wainwright is the biggest example of a guy not on there who I have rated better than a lot of guys who are.) I also added major leaguers who missed all year last year (John Franco, Turk Wendell, some others). If you absolutely need to start a franchise right now, tonights set should be good for that, though I still suggest waiting until the opening day set. For that one I will set lineups and rotations appropriately. Right now it's kind of close but not right since the computer will change everything anyway and it will still be updated. It'll be late tonight, but it'll be here later. And of course, any suggestions/comments are welcome. The contracts addition will be called 1.1 instead of 2 (calling it an all-new version is kind of silly, I think). I'll be back later. GH |

it's an update of the 2003 set released with OOTP5 so career stats are updated through 2002.

I assume your using Baseball America's Top 100. If your not liking their rankings, this one is pretty good. It's less in depth but it offers a good source of comparison.

The problem with the top 100 is that I believe it's creating it's "own" top 100 prospect list based on what the AI considers to be the top 100. In his example he was saying that he had a guy rated high enough that he should make the top 100, but for whatever reason the AI didn't see it that way. I think he was saying trying to get the AI to evaluate them correctly might be fruitless because he'd have to throw all the ratings out of whack to try and get the top 100 in the game and "real life" to match up. That's only my interpretation though.
Looking forward to seeing the set Gforce, hope the work has been going ok. Let me know if anything came up that you need help with. Later, Nick
