I wasn't referring to you in any way, shape or form. Not sure how you get the idea that I was.

I was replying to the OP. Quoted your post by mistake.

And that post was helpful, as you are on a regular basis. I'm not saying to stop being helpful. All I'm saying is sometimes it's ok to save the jokes. We have A LOT of new users here who are coming to us for help and it can be frustrating to them when they get made fun of or have to read joke posts in their threads. Heck, I get frustrated reading them sometimes.

It wasn't until post #10 that someone stuck a smilie on. Not a single one before that, but plenty of ignorant responses. Not quite sure what you're talking about or trying to defend. |

...Unless "YMMV" is supposed to indicate a smilie of some sort. That's what I'm seeing on my iPhone through Tapatalk. But I see other smilies so I assumed it wasn't. If that's the case, I'm sorry. But I've never seen "YMMV" before and do see smilies regularly.

Please enlighten me to the ignorant responses. They were helpful and explaining to the OP on how to get the desired info.

I actually thought YMMV was appropriate, since everyone plays this game differently. I think one of the main problem is there was a level of knowledge that was expected on a question on the main board, by opposition of the New to The game, where you would ask, more detailed information not excusing any of the other comments. |

It was immediately obvious to me that the OP was talking about the pop-up box blocking the speed/arm information on the screen, though apparently it was not obvious to everyone else. That's why the responses about the information being on the screen were frustrating. Just a simple disconnect. No big whoop.

This is the screen I was referring to. I don't see any numbers at all. Last edited by Pirates; 03-06-2014 at 08:46 PM. |

Pirates -- I get the same screen that you're getting. I'm pretty new to the game, as well. I use the BNN Broadcast screen. When I get the base running option, I'm not able to activate any part of the game screen until I make a decision. I can't see the ratings that were previously on the screen. The description of the situation gives me a description of the outfielder's arm and the depth of the ball, but not specific ratings. I suppose that this may be intentional to simulate the snap-second decisions, but that seems unlikely.

I, for one, will not be reducing the amount of jokes. Not one iota.

To adress the issue:
Do yourself a favor and let the AI make those decisions. It was a poorly implemented "bell & whistle" that does not work well....nor is it fun. Moreover, this kind of visual decision does not translate well to text. I understand that this does not address your exact question but it is the best answer that you will get as it pertians to this issue. I know it's trivial but here's good quote of any baseball manager in the world: "Know your players"
![]() As for the option, I think there's a part of casino roulette in running for third. It's risky even in real world, why it won't be risky in OOTP? If you see speed attribute, than it won't be a roulette, a tension, right? So, maybe, hiding attributes from the field it's a good thing. As I read somewhere on bridge site, it makes the game "nailbiting" .

Do you not use player pictures?
The normal default shows the players in little boxes on the field.

I may be wrong, but I think the way the players are showing up in his screenshot is the result of using ball flight. I bet if he turned that off, he would have the pictures and the player ratings on screen.
