Nope, the Pirates will be equally as inept. They make the A's look like they play in Colorado.

And - he gives up a HR. Send him to A-ball. What a bust.

It might be a stretch, but to think that this guy might have been pitching in Olympic Stadium in Montreal tonight makes me ******* sick.

I say let him pitch the full 9 and see if he can get 20 K's!

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that Strasburg's debut was a colossal disaster.

The warpaint, him glaring at umpires for having the audacity to not see things his way, finishing his JUCO career on suspension because he got thrown out of multiple games for arguing with umps... just doesn't paint a good picture of the guy's character.
Maybe age and pro ball will even his keel, but we'll see.

As for Strasburg... wow. The hype might be justified.

I am going to guess he goes 7 innings. Gets 14 K's. No walks and gives up 2 runs.

The guy throws 100-102, has crazy stuff, and his command of the strikezone is amazing. I'm not sure there's ever been a pitcher who is comparable in terms of ability. Obviously he won't be putting up a 14:0 k:bb ratio every start, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a dominant pitcher for a long time, even as he gets older (he's not all velocity, like a lot of young pitchers).
