Fictional Fast-Sim Quickstart with 200+ years of history - Page 2

Ok, so here's the OOTP13 Quickstart version. We're now in the year 2031, there are 28 teams (two 14-team leagues) and the playoffs are set to allow 5 teams from each league, making use of the flexible playoff formats of OOTP. The playoff format is (3-7-7-9), with all but the 4th and 5th seeds getting wild card round byes.

Create a D2D.quick folder in your OOTP13/quickstarts folder and insert the contents of this zip into it.

I've updated this quickstart to include logos, uniforms and the updated league I've been adapting back to 36 teams. It's kind of awesome and happy to share it with you. We're now at 270+ years of history.

I was gung ho back in 2010 but didn't follow through. I've always wanted a 36 team league. This time I'll play for sure.

Here's an updated version of the quickstart of the league after 323 seasons. I was doing a parallel dynasty on it before recently deciding to fork the league. Someone asked for it, so here's a copy in case you'd like to take a look.

The league's universe is very different than the one posted initially, it has several independent leagues and 36 teams in the majors too.

Do you sim right through the playoffs, too, or do you stop in time for the playoffs?

Is there a system that would work by simming one month at a time or would that defeat the purpose? I may try this idea out.....it looks interesting!

I have played all sorts of ways and yes simming a month at a time would work too. I ran fast-sim leagues -- pioneered the concept as it were -- and we've had leagues do it all kinds of ways including entire season, half a season and once a month.

And no, we always stop for the playoffs, it's the best part.
