All of our teams are taken. But we're actually considering expansion this year. So if you get in now on the waiting list, you'll get a shot at one of them. Or another team as they open up. In a league that moves as fast as we do, it's always good to have a deep bench.

Seriously, fastest OOTP league in the world...and up there in terms of fun and competitiveness.

The Detroit Wolverines, a team that in recent history has done pretty well, but has fallen on hard times of late...is looking for a new owner. It's our only opening, so get in while the going is good.

Just finished our 16th season with the Columbus Crusaders defeating the 5-time FOOL Champion (4 titles in the past seven years) in a tight, hotly contest 9-game FOOL Classic battle where the winning run was scored in the 9th.

The Detroit vacancy was filled, but now the Brooklyn team needs a new owner. An original franchise, Brooklyn won the '69 Classic over Compton in the 13th inning of Game 9. They've fallen on hard times, but have one of the best players in the world in Aussie outfielder Rich Lang.

C'mon over and check us out.

FOOL just finished it's 17th season and we're full. No vacancies at the moment.

But we've got a new spinoff league that's a weekend league. Even faster than FOOL and it's just once a week and we do the entire season over the weekend from trades to FA to playoffs.

I would like to introduce to you to FLOP: The FOOL League of Offseason Play.
Quote:
The league has been created with the following basic structure:

8 teams
1 division
124-game season
Custom playoffs with all 8 teams involved in a 3-round tourney
No minors
No DH
No draft
No arbitration
5 year free agency
FOOL-style development and strategy settings
Financial co-efficient of .1 (1/5th the money of FOOL)
The idea is to have very small-market baseball. I have gone over the list of United States Micropolitan Statistical Areas at Wikipedia to find a good batch of small-but-not-tiny markets, and picked out a number of candidates that covered the US fairly evenly.

You can check it out. It's a good way to meet FOOL owners, to engage in what we do and be ready for a team when we have an opening! I'm not the Commish, but one of our members is and it's extremely fun concept and we're getting off the ground now.

As soon as my registration completes on your forum, I'll post my request. The FOOL league is pretty well known all over, I'd love to participate!

FOOL is entering our 20th season and there currently is indeed a team open (Compton). Compton made the FOOL Classic a few times roughly a decade ago and finished second place only three seasons ago.

We our a fast sim league intended for players who enjoy constant action and alot of movement. The great thing is even if you have a bad team, it does not take long to turn it around. We sim a complete season every week.

If interested in taking over this storied franchise or to sign up on our waiting list, please just drop me a PM!

This is a great league! Very active, great participation and challenging!
We are run by a commish who does not control a team, and a rotating Board of Directors who ensure that we are ever improving.
We are different from any other league out there. Our 1st draft class has almost all retired, and we are soon to open our hall of fame. How many leagues can boast about drafting a player, watching him develop, become a star, age, sadly decline, retire and enter the Hall of Fame...All in a 4 month period of real life??!!

*Answer* Just one...

The FOOL

I echo this. FOOL is run by a great commish in Alan who doesn't own a team, the league's board is top notch and it's been going on for 20 seasons and counting. As the league founder and a recently retired player for 20 years, I gotta tell you there isn't a league like this one in the OOTP universe. It'll knock your socks off and keep you coming back for more.

Two teams are currently open in FOOL. Both are contending teams near the top of their leagues. Great time to get in on things...

Had a new team open up today if anyone is interested in joining, just drop me a PM.

This is a high paced, high intensity league so possibly not for casual fans.. but it also has a great group of owners with a very high participation rate. The rules are balanced in a way that we have had a few different "dynasties" over the years, but meanwhile have also had 13 different championship teams (in a 16 team league) over the course of 21 seasons.

We currently have a new opening in our league for anyone that is interested in joining an online OOTP league with a very active owner base. (16 owners and usually several hundred posts per week). If anyone is tired of leagues where hardly anyone ever seems to post or talk trades, come by and check us out.

Owners not only are involved, but take turns rotating onto a decision board for a few weeks that help decide on any necessary rule changes or modifications. If you have any interest or questions, please drop me a PM!

We just finished our league's 26th season in a very fun format (one season is simmed each week). It does require a fairly good level of participation to keep up or you'll likely feel a bit overwhelmed though.

If anyone is tired of a slow moving league, or a league that takes over 1 real life year to just rebuild a team and they are interested in a high involvement, fast paced league I currently have an opening. Feel free to drop me a PM if interested or have questions about the league.

Or feel free to check out our forums at: The Front Office Offseason League (FOFC's OOTP House League) - Front Office Football Central

We generally average really high owner participation on the forums.. well over 200+ posts a week from the league.

Great league to be in, it'll make you forget that there is even a solo feature.

We had a team open up this week if there is anyone looking for a fast paced/high interaction league. It is one of the more active leagues that I have ever been a part of. If interested in something higher paced then your current leagues, drop me a note and I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone had.

We changed things in FOOL.

So you should join now. After the 1988 season, we simmed to the 2001 season. Our 40th anniversary year. We then contracted 4 teams, redrafted our entire rosters and now we're completing that 40th season which was better than ever! Things are more balanced and competitive than ever and it's an exciting time to be in FOOL!

We only have one team open -- the Compton Brothers -- but you should get in on the action now! It's a great time to be part of the league!

Here's the forum!

As it turns out, if you're considering joining, you've picked a good time. The winningest franchise in history -- the Hartford Harpooners -- have put out an APB looking for an owner to take over the club, as the original owner is a coach and won't be back in the league until the spring.

The 'Pooners went 16 years before they made the playoffs, but since then, have won 13 league titles and have been FOOL Champions 6 times. Best of all, all of this history has happened in the past six months!

New owners who have never played in FOOL get a $20 million one-time signing bonus, which allows them to shed bad contracts from the previous regime and is active during this first season.

Here's the waiting list.

43 seasons and counting...if you're looking for a place to learn OOTP fast to prepare for your other leagues, this is a good proving ground. A season a week and nothing else like it ANYWHERE in the OOTP universe.
