I just did some quick calculations (just on world.dat) but if you had one league with one division and two teams (and the league was called SL1 with an abbreviation of SL1), 57000 years worth of league history would only add 135Mb to the size of world.dat - doesn't include things like the number of 'accomplishments' that would have been achieved in that time!!!

I actually used to do this in some solo leagues. The game accomodated birthdates in the negative years without any problems.

Back when I used to play Strat-O-Matic (the computer version), before Mogul and OOTP were around, I used to do this whole process where I would make fictional players out of the cards. It was a long and involved thing.

Anyway, I used to always make fictional leagues that started in the year 1001 (since 1000 was the earliest year it knew). I liked the idea that it wasn't a real year, just year 1 of the league. That way I didn't have to think about the world beyond my game. Now I think it would be hard to do that, even if I could.

I actually was going to do something like this, where I got to modern day in Civ IV and made a league based on whatever the cities were. But I realized that you really don't end up with all that many cities, unless you use a huge map and you're very successful, and that takes too much time.

Nah, you just have to be a CONQUEROR, not a wuss who wins with limp-wristed culture, unctuous diplomacy, or geeky space race technology!

On the corpse. My question is...
No, my question. I get to go first. Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on corpse?

I played Civ 3 so much I burned out on it completely. When I got Civ 4 last year I was all psyched to get into it, but after playing a few games, I felt like it was essentially Civ 3 with much better graphics and some improved gameplay. I mean, that's essentially what any new version of a game is, but the burnout from Civ 3 hasn't sufficiently worn off yet, so I ended up uninstalling it (because I'm almost out of space on my hard drive).

Not that I want to spend your money for you, but you may want to try the Civ IV - Beyond the Sword expansion pack. That may rekindle your interest in the game. Of course, you must return here promptly to purchase OOTP 9 on the day that it's released.

We need to get an OOTP group to play some multiplayer games. It was kicked around a bit in off topic, but I do not think it was ever started.

I might try it eventually, but I have so little time to play games as it is, and OOTP9 is coming...
