When you look at a player's stats and see he's having a good year and you think, "maybe he's improved his talents"

...you go out and buy extra cds so as to save for alltime the years the Phillies and the Red Sox win the World Series.

...you've memorized your elicense number.

...when you last watched a game on television, you kept clicking a remote button to try and hurry the next batter to the plate.

...you think how if Bud Selig used the era calculator, he could bring back the dead ball next season.

...your friend asks you what were Ty Cobbs's batting average and hits, and you say "Ty Cobb had a lifetime batting average of .327 with 3189 hits. Oh wait, I'm sorry, he had a lifetime batting average of .344 with 3588 hits." Then some hours later you realize you got confused between the two historical sims you're running, and apologize to your friend for costing him a shot at a thousand dollars from a radio program contest.

.... you're attending a baseball game and are shocked when the game is actually called due to rain.

.... you are confused how a pitcher can "pitch around a batter" AND "hold the runner"

Ouch. I'm still amazed that players with CEIs still hang around the free agent pool. Like, who is going to pick them up?

I knew I was playing too much OOTP when...

...we re-structured our online league, the Great American Pastime Baseball League, by folding the Marlins and Devil Rays; moving the Expos to D.C. and re-naming them the Senators; and re-aligning the Brewers to the AL. After all this (and please take my advice - never, ever undertake a dispersal draft) I was watching SportsCenter one morning and got really confused when they showed highlights from a Marlins game before I realized that the "real" Marlins were, in fact, still playing in South Florida.

They only hang out until the end of the season and then retire. Basically there is no retirement during a season so that is why they stay there and are not just deleted from the league.

...when you talk about how Frank "Home Run" Baker got his nickname for his 1921 season with the St. Louis Browns when he hit 37 homers and ushered in a new era in baseball.

... When you actually start watching baseball!!!

Seriously, I've always been a mild fan, but only caught highlights. I got OOTP4, and have actually followed a few games now, and will probably catch some of the World Series.

Yes, I'm a newbie to baseball pretty much. Hence the question. CEI? What does that mean? Sorry for the dumb noobie question, but we gotta learn somewhere

In return, I can bore you endlessly about soccers offside rule Or the myriad technical rules of F1 motor racing (A sport I know VERY well).

Seriously, what the heck is CEI?
